I purchased a Samsung 50 inch 4k tv when 4k became available. It cost $999 at Best Buy. It developed several white spots on the screen so I decided to replace it. This cost me $279. It is even less now. I was amazed in the advancements. I no longer need my chromecast as I can download all my apps and only need one remote. Put this up after our newish Samsung went completely black. We have TCL all throughout the house and have been using TCL for some time now. I’ve never been unhappy with them. I’m sure there are better brands out there but these are reliable and never been disappointed with the screen quality. We have had several 32”, a 65” and a 98” TCL. Very happy with all of them. This one (65”) has Fire TV (our older ones have Roku) and I like it but it doesn’t have Spectrum app but not end of the world. Initially plugged our Roku stick into this TV but for some reason the remote wouldn’t work well. (We were using the correct one - voice activating; our 98” has the same Roku stick and it works fine). So we just use Fire TV and it’s a nice change. I was able to use the existing wall TV mount but we had to get different size bolts since the holes on the TCL TV are smaller than the holes in the Samsung. ... show more

I purchased this for my 10 year old son to upgrade his gaming experience. He’s a great kid. I love the features of this tv. If I wasn’t so tired I would have given him my 65 inch and kept his. It was not hard to put on his bedroom wall. I replaced my 16 year old 40 inch Sony. It’s a great purchase. The only problem I have is that it was left at my front door around 8am and I didn’t wake up until 9:20am. I wish the delivery drivers would knock on the door before walking away. ... show more

This is a great TV. However, with low cost, comes the inevitable problem. And in this case the issue is with the "Display & Sounds" menu which displays an empty gray screen with a white bar, or, when the menu is selected, the screen goes dark. Restarting the TV fixes the issue, but clearly, the firmware has issues and TCL has known of these problems for a very long time and still the issue persists. I have also found in my research that this same problem is seen on other FireTV vendor sets. So it may be an Amazon thing. I don't feel like going through the hassle of a blame game with either TCL or Amazon and the picture is "good enough" but clearly, I am one of MANY who have a non-working function on a television that should allow us to control our display and sound functions out of the box. The photo above shows the issue I see with the display & sound menu. Other than this, the set is good. I use a amplifier for the sound and thus cannot comment on the native speakers so many have dissed, but for my purposes, it is a good match for my needs. If I had it to do over again, I'd spend the extra $50 to get a higher quality unit, but even then, with these software-based TVs, it seems to be a crap shoot if you are going to get good firmware, no matter how much you spend. All in all, adequate quality. Not stupendous, but not bad for the price. If this set does not stand the test of time, I will go with another brand and definitely not with a FireTV. It is my hope that whoever is responsible for the firmware issues, steps up and issues a fix that truly repairs the problem with the display and sound menus. Two stars removed for whoever is not fixing the firmware issue. If I get help getting a patch pushed out to me to fix this, or another set that actually has a working menu, I'll edit the review and update accordingly. ... show more

Nice picture, easy setup, but cannot control with Alexa voice commands through my echo like my old fire stick. Not a deal breaker, but slight inconvenience. SUPER lightweight. I was able to carry it in the house, and place on stand by myself. My old 65” was heavier than this.

I was skeptical since this was so cheap however it makes me very happy. I couldn't believe how light the TV is and the ease of having the Amazon Firestick built into it is nice. It's also nice that it pulls antenna TV channels into the Firestick interface so you don't have to switch between inputs to watch antenna. The remote is similar to a Firestick, it has a few more feature but no channel numbers, just up and down but I find I don't really miss this with the antenna interface built into the firestick interface. Also I wasn't sure how you could switch to other inputs if you hooked a gaming system or something up to it but that is in the Firestick interface too. FYI it only has one USB port on the back which I am using to power my amplified antenna. Picture quality is good, not what you would get with a $1000 TV thought. But for the price I give this a thumbs up! ... show more
