  • Sneaky good phone for price
Color: Space Blue Memory Storage Capacity: 128 GB
I'm a week away from 45 years old. Until about 18 months ago, I had never broken, or even damaged a phone. Since then, I have lost so many phones. For a long while, I was simply buying refurbished versions of the same phone. I took a gamble on this phone. $250 with $25 'coupon'. I was ultra skeptical of a new phone at such a low price. I've now had it for over a full day, could not be more shocked at how good a phone it is, regardless of its price point. I'm a Samsung person, not an apple person. But has done everything I need it to do, YouTube, light gaming, etc., at the same performance as a Samsung s24 ultra. Lastly, the 'kindle' display functionality should not be underestimated. Even in normal mode, the display is much easier on my eyes. I very highly recommend. Of course, with a disclaimer of it only having been 24+ hours. ... show more

  • Game changer for being easy on the eyes. I hope they never stop making this phone!
Color: Space Blue Memory Storage Capacity: 256 GB
This phone is awesome, it has all of the features I want: 1. Good enough performance to multitask - browsing the web with a bunch of tabs open, while shopping on another app, planning things on the calendar, watching a video with another app, and taking notes in another app without any lag. 2. SD card slot for me to get up to an extra 2 TB of storage 3. 3.5mm headphone jack 4. Solid cameras 5. Good battery 6. Nxtpaper - this is great for reading on your phone in your bed with the lights off to help you fall asleep, to use the phone without overstimulating your eyes, and to save battery. (Check out the videos on youtube regarding the nxtpaper features) I'm using this phone on the AT&T network without any issues. I was worried when I typed in the IMEI to att's bring your own device web page because their website said the IMEI belonged to a "Samsung Galaxy XCover6 Pro", but the AT&T rep said when he put the IMEI into the system, it showed the TCL. I can even do wifi calling, which I think means the device is fully accepted on the AT&T network. ... show more

  • Good budget Phone! Get's the job done at a 1/4 of the cost of other phones.
Color: Space Blue Memory Storage Capacity: 256 GB
I am enjoying my new phone. I had the TCL 10L, this TCL 60XE NXTPAPER 5G definitely feels like an upgrade. A few things that I wish were better... The phone ring volume isn't very loud. There is distortion when on a call, both on the earpiece & on speaker phone. The camera is OK. Low light is not good at all for a good picture, mainly when taking a "selfie", from my experience. I wish it would charge faster than it does, however it isn't horrible. I didn't think I would like the fingerprint scan button, but I'm finding that I like it better than the 10L. I like the size of the phone. I like that it has a 256GB storage size. (on the model I have) The speaker volume for playing videos is plenty loud. Over all, I would recommend this phone. For the price, it does everything I need it to do + some. I've added 3 photos, with good lighting, less lighting & even less lighting.... Enjoy LOL! :D I would give it 5 stars, but for the distorted audio while on phone calls. ... show more

  • Expected good, got great

The e-reader type of screen is even better than I expected. Super responsive. Sub $300 for this good of a phone seems impossible. I liked it so much I got a second one for my father.

  • Disappointing.
Color: Space Blue Memory Storage Capacity: 128 GB
I was so excited at the prospect of upgrading myself, moving up from my 3+ year old phone. But this one was disappointment all around, for me. To be fair, there's nothing at all actually wrong with the phone. It's affordable, 5G capable, and has features that should lead to excellent battery life. But, it's too big for my hands, it can't even detect the fastest band on our home wifi, and the rounded edges of the screen pretty much guarantee that no screen protector will ever fit properly or reach the edges of the screen. My teenager will be the one getting this as an upgrade instead. ... show more

  • Excellent Value from a Trusted Brand
Color: Space Blue Memory Storage Capacity: 128 GB
The problem with TCL phones, is that no one knows about TCL phones. Some people might know about TCL the company, especially if you're knowledgeable about TV's, in that they are one of two pre-eminent TV's brands from China, the other being Hisense. I have owned two TCL TV's before, and they are the best deals I've ever bought. I once bought a budget TV from them for only $225 at Target for Black Friday, for a SIXTY-FIVE-inch (65"!!!) TV a handful of years ago (I think it was BF 2020). The deal was so awesome, it wouldn't happen again until at least 2023. Anyways, trust me when I say they make some of the best TV's around, and they are no longer just a budget brand. However, for phones, I have never even seen a TCL one in person before, and I am very connected to the consumer electronics world. In the easiest explanation possible, imagine if you didn't realize Samsung or Sony also makes phones (Sony phones are almost to the point of irrelevancy though). And that's too bad, because this phone is not all that bad. In fact, for the current price of $225 after the $25-off coupon, it's one heck of a deal. Let's get the main thing out of the way, which is the weak CPU, which is fine for everyday apps, but once you have a whole of apps running in the background, you can notice lag and stutter when doing some processor-intensive tasks, such as running an anti-virus scan, or playing some video apps and switching to other apps. Otherwise, in normal everyday use, it's perfectly fine (I am too used to the latest and greatest in Snapdragon processors in Samsung phones). Here is the main feature of this phone which makes it stands out, and why I really really like it: It has four display modes, and in its own writing, it states: "Standard Mode gives you crisp, vibrant visuals for everyday tasks. Ink Paper Mode mimics the look of an e-reader for eye-friendly reading. Color Paper Mode enhances vibrancy for digital art and comics. Max Ink Mode deepens the paper-like effect while extending battery life." I really like these modes, because I use this phone for when I am catching up on the news, or using Twitter, etc. Switching it to an e-ink screen is actually better for your eyes, and also when you use that mode, you extend the battery life. The last mode is especially cool for saving power. However, it quite dimmer than the first e-ink mode, and made more for when you're lying in bed at night before bed. So I use the regular e-ink mode during the day. For $225, you get a pretty decent phone - 8GB of RAM and 128GB of memory for the version which I received for review. The four display modes allow me to use this phone for almost a week, because I use it exclusively as my "reading" phone, meaning I turn it on in the morning in the John to catch up on the news for about 30 minutes, and again at night before bed for about an hour or so. The 5,000mAh batter is bigger than my Z Fold 6, and as big as my S24 Ultra, and for the price is a great value. If you love TCL TV's, you should definitely give this phone a try. Like I said, I don't use it as my main phone, and I don't recommend it as such - if you get it as your secondary/emergency/travel phone, I think that's its ideal use. For those buying this as their main phone, you will still get an excellent phone, with caveats. In the end, it's all about the price, which is why I rate it five stars for what you are getting. ... show more
