Description

Streamlined TonePrint Pedal Widely touted among Sweetwater guitarists as one of TC Electronic’s most exciting and versatile endeavors, the Plethora TonePrint series now showcases its artist-inspired sonic resourcefulness in a compact form factor: the Plethora X1. Scaled down to the footprint of a single pedal rather than the board-like builds of its X3 and X5 counterparts, the Plethora X1 includes seven dual-effect mini-boards, totaling 14 different TonePrint effects pedals in one space-conscious chassis. Seven TonePrint models are already loaded onto the Plethora X1, while USB-C and Bluetooth connections make it easy to import effects from PCs, tablets, and smartphones. The real-time expression of TonePrint’s MASH footswitch continues on the Plethora X1, along with full-stereo I/O and access to the TonePrint app for even further control and customization. Finally, three universal parameters offer efficient tone tweaking with monitoring via a 1-inch IPS LCD screen.Artist-curated and customizable effects With space to hold

  • Solid Pedal for a solid price.
This is a review of the Plethora X1. The pedal works as advertised. I've used the toneprint editor on PC and it works as it should. Haven't tried using the app on the phone but it should be okay (I have used it with a Hall Of Fame 2 pedal). In spite of the toggle switch and multi-purpose footswitch, it is very easy to learn to use. I watched a YouTube video showing how to use it and I was set. Just load up the toneprints you want and you're good to go. Keep in mind you can only use one effect at a time, though you can have multiple effects stored on the pedal. If you like the toneprint library of effects, this is a good alternative to the more expensive version of the Plethora. ... show more

  • Nice!
Works exactly as expected. It does one effect at a time, and the footswitch can be assigned as bypass, Tap, MASH, or quick switch to another effect. I'd rather it had an expression pedal jack, and have the footswitch be tap and bypass, but for the price, it's almost as good as having all the Tone Print pedals. All effects sound amazing, even if some aren't my thing. It also has a reasonably straight forward interface. I didn't need instructions to get it going. ... show more

  • Love the pedal - Infinite Sustainer doesn't work
I love this thing. I wish I had gotten the X3. One thing though, the Infinite Sustainer doesn't work with this unit. Updated firmware, searched the forums, contacted TC and it still just won't let me use that feature. Still, a fun pedal and I really like it.

  • Fix the software!
Awesome pedal, mesh for me is such a cool thing! But the app crushes all the time so now I can't update effects!

  • Fantastic Value, fun, deep, and versatile!
I can't imagine a better value if you only have one space on your pedal board or $129 to spend. Mine is currently on my bass board with chorus, flange, phaser, tape echo, doubler, octaver, and noise gate loaded into the 7 knob positions. Enough to get me fired from ANY band! I've assigned the MASH pedal function to all the modulation fx, which wangs the depth and rate simultaneously for a fun freakout in mid-song. Also jitters the tape echo for wild pitch effects. If you don't need the MASH function, you can set a second effect for all 7 knob positions and the pedal can A-B between them for 14 effects. The Toneprint app lets you load dozens of Toneprint pedals and endorser programs, and also edit deep parameters and knob assignments. Why, in my day, a Yamaha REX50 cost $495 and needed a midi controller to switch effects... ... show more

  • Missed opportunity... great on papet.
I can't recommend this, or any Plethora product for high gain players. I had both, the X5 and X1, and while they are great on paper, they regretfully inject a ridiculous amount of noise into the signal, way more than their regular same effect counterparts. I had to return the X1 because: 1. I received the white one instead of the noir (not a huge deal) 2. same issue that I had with the X5 while rubbing it on the loop with my Mesa Mark Vii, a high pitch squeal that would destroy the tone when engaged. I tried updating it to the latest firmware, isolating it etc, nada. Seems to be a Plethora exclusive issue. I have many other mini TC pedals and work w/o any issues. ... show more

  • I can’t think of a purchase I regret more than this one.
TC electronic got bought out by Behringer and ever since then the quality of their products has taken a nose drive. None worse than this pedal. It has such promise, but I defy you to look up the product page and not find it appallingly bad. I never got it to connect with my laptop, or via Bluetooth. I had to use my phone with a USB-C cable. Works but poorly. I’ve spent hours trying to get the pedal to connect the way I wanted to, no luck. Firmware update? Good luck. TonePrint app update? Good luck. Worst of all: product support? They never responded to my tickets for support. Do yourself a favor and look at reviews or social media pages. So many people saying the same things I am saying now. There are so many options out there these days for single effect pedals with online editors. This one could have been great, but it’s the worst one now. Get a Valeton GP5 instead. Some of the effects don’t sound as good, but it works perfectly, costs less, has MIDI control, is smaller, even has amp and cab simulation. ... show more

  • Came actually early works great and I got a DC converter for instead of a battery works great
I’ve never had a pedal or a box whatever it’s called. It took me a little while to get used to it, but it works great. There’s a lot of sound effects.
