Testing my new Qi4D Max 4 rescue with 50R shaft during a warm up and a live round this week, I am going to do some tweaking to see if I can find a setup that I am happy with ball flight that is similar to my Qi10 Max rescue ball flight. Between adjusting the weight and a different ball position I should be able to dial it in to get a more consistent strike and ball flight. During play I used the 4H for all my longer 2nd shots and a few shots out of the rough hitting a controlled and flighted approach shot. Since I only hit the middle of the face on 4 of 8 varieties of shots I hit, the others gave me some good feedback on off center strikes. Since I was living on high toe strikes that day I can unequivocally tell you the twist face technology kept the shot much straighter, albeit down the right side, much straighter. Performance out of the rough was satisfactory to get ball back into position plus a few extra yards with nice controlled swings. I did find the center on a tee shot and two fairway second shots and was satisfied with strike and distance, the ball flight was considerably lower than what I was expecting. So more testing of any adjustments I can do with weighting and finding best ball position will be needed. Especially hitting off of grass vs mat warm up. I almost didn’t use the club after my mat warm up I was hitting it so poorly! Glad I sucked it up and hit some game scenario shots. I am a big fan of the Taylormade clubs that sit at the top of my bag and having the opportunity to get my hands on the some newer tech in the Qi series I am looking forward to hitting some great shots. ... show more
