Have probably traveled with this bag over 10 times- have been on multiple airlines and never had an issue with size- worked out perfectly as a personal bag for my flights- the large compartment was perfect for clothes… usually packed this with clothes I needed to be accessible for sleeping or being ready to go when my flight landed- front compartment was perfect for electronics- very accessible for cramped seating- The zip up pocket to put in backpack straps was very useful! Usually stuck my sandals in there- Overall very happy with this purchase, no signs of wear and tear at all… my only complaint is the light pink option gets dirty very easily, but still looks really good with how often it’s been used- ... show more

This backpack is so perfect! I love all of the compartments, and the fact that there's a waterproof one for my wet bathing suits! This is a perfect weekend bag for me, it fits way more things than I thought it would, and I love the strap inside that holds things in place to keep everything from wrinkling. The strap on the back to ride on my carry on rolling suitcase and the handle on the side of the bag so you can pick it up from any angle are such a great bonuses too! This bag is it! I love how it unzips and opens in the middle like a book.. and lays flat for easy packing and organization. It holds ALOT of stuff. The clips on the sides help to really snug everything in tight or expand for more storage if you’re packing on the lighter side. So many pockets, which I love. And I love how the front pocket is almost unnoticeable, so you don’t get that paranoid feeling of someone in the line behind you unzipping and trying to snag whatever’s inside. UPDATED after air travel: Do not pack this bag to capacity if you are going to use it as a personal (under seat) item on an airplane. I stuffed this baby to the gills and was dismayed to find I could barely fit it under the seat in front of me in Economy on United Airlines. If you don't pack it right to the top you will be OK. [Bag was purchased to use as a personal item on United Airlines in a few months; I'll update my review after that trip.] I was immediately impressed by the quality of this bag. It appears to be very well-made, and the material is very nice, not cheap-looking or feeling at all. The sides are not rigid, but once you fill it and zip it up it's a nice rectangular shape. To make sure I wouldn't have to return it within 30 days due to any manufacturer's defects (I also paid a little extra for an ASURION 2 Year Backpack Protection Plan), I immediately tested it out by using it for a long weekend trip that involved traveling by car, train, ferry, and foot. I had to wear it on my back for two 12-minute walks, and found that the straps are comfortable on the shoulders. The interior fits a lot of items--I managed to get everything I needed into it, and I am not known for being a light packer. I didn't have any issues with seams bursting, straps detaching from bag, etc. so I'm not sure where some of the negative reviews are coming from. A feature I haven't seen anyone mention: if you want to carry the bag with the side handle rather than on your shoulders, the backpack straps can be stowed into their own compartment at the top of the bag, which zips closed and keeps the bag looking tidy and compact. (That's the only concern I have with this bag so far....the strap compartment obviously has to remain open when you're using it as a backpack. Not sure how rain getting into that compartment would affect the bag or the contents inside; hopefully I'll never find out.) Another nice feature is the trolley strap, which I will definitely be using on my next trip. Be aware that because of the side handle, this bag only has one side pocket that can fit a water bottle (probably not a wide one) or an umbrella. Ignore the reviewers who complained about the fact that the bag arrived folded in half. This does not damage or affect the bag at all.
