My dog has allergies, so I’m trying to figure out if it is food related. He hates all food except his own! This was the first one he likes and actually devours it. TBD on the allergies.

Puppy is happy and that's what matters. Also, it is NOT grain free, grains as an additive are NOT a problem, as long as they aren't in top 2 ingredients. Also, it's POULTRY FREE.

“Not too bad for a grain kibble dog food, kibbles are the thickness and width of a regular size ‘tablet’. best for smaller and i suppose some medium size dogs.. it is getting harder to find kibbles not full of pea/legume galore fillers these days that makes for most of the protein percentages, even your once reputable high quality protein brands have added this cheap filler in their foods to lower cost (while still charging us an arm & a leg for the food), So it is great to see this Ancient wetland version does not contain any!! Although quite honestly i haven’t been a fan of taste of the wild’s kibbles for they too add fillers, this here Ancient version of their kibble line, i am overall okay with feeding it to my dog in a lowered amount a couple times a week for i don’t feed her gains with her raw food and this will be an easy way to get a little in her.. Reason why i would not choose to feed it to her every day is because for one the protein level seems low to me considering first 3 ingredients are meat based and more meats are down the line. Main reason however is well because the other thing kibbles food comps all now seem to be including in their kibbles is probiotics, something that irritates me (and why my girl gets mostly a raw diet) for not all animals can handle it on a regular basis, especially if they have sensitive stomachs!! never fails, my dog (and 3 of our cats) will get loose-diarrhea stools within days when fed a kibble food with probiotics in it regularly, wish they would just allow us to add our own!! “ She did not like this salmon version, would not touch it at all but, did like the fowl version to a point (duck is her fav). “overall decent dog food, a little pricey i suppose but, with smaller to medium dogs under 45lbs you will be feeding less than 2 cps daily with most if they are not that active so the cost balances out in the end.” ... show more

I put it to the “Bubbs” test. That’s my dog. I gave home a bowl of this at feeding time and he turned his nose up at it. He either likes it or he don’t. He passed on this one. He likes certain dry dog foods but not this one. The ingredients all seem great and would be comfortable with my dog liking it but not the case. ... show more
