We started using TankTechsRX about 10 years ago in our first RV. We lived and traveled full-time for six years so the holding tanks got a good workout. Never was there any sewer smells while using this product. We no longer full-time but still enjoy camping in our small fifth wheel and a couple months ago I ran out of TankTechsRX. I was using home made remedies and man, what a smell was coming from out tank! I bought a different treatment option and it helped initially but the smell soon returned.     • Works to break down solids in black tank

This stuff really works to break down solids in the black tank when used as directed. I only gave it a 4/5 star rating because this stuff is often marketed as being able to clean tank sensors and I have not found it effective in that use. Basically this is a probiotic that breaks down solid waste so it flushes completely when the tank drains. I dumped 8oz in my black tank at the start of a 5-week camping trip this year (I know that's more than necessary) and only drained my black tank partially as needed, keeping some content in there so the probiotic continues working. When I packed up and cleaned out the black tank completely it seemed like all solids were liquefied and the tank drained very easily. I use a black tank cleanout adapter (45 degree elbow with a hose adapter to spray water into the black tank) and there was very little sediment on the bottom of the tank after draining. I've used this product for several years and will continue to use it to maintain black tanks. In my experience, I've tried many things and once those poorly-designed sensors are dirty they stay that way. Use this product to help break down solid waste for easier cleanout, just don't expect it to clean already-dirty sensors! (If you want to avoid that with a new camper just keep a covered trash can in your bathroom and make sure people don't flush toilet paper, then use this stuff to maintain the tank. From what I can tell, it's the paper sticking to the sensors that messes them up.) ... show more

This biological product actually EATS the bacteria. No stinky RV toilet fumes. Uses only 2 ounces. Great product without the hazardous poisonous chemical. So glad my RV mechanic told me about this product. .
