Description

Visually lush, this is the story of the lavish custom steampunk caravan in the wilds of New England that became a dark cottagecore TikTok sensation. If you take a fortuitous wrong turn in the primeval mountains of New Hampshire, you'll stumble across this 300-square-foot handmade home. A bewitching mix of fairy tale cottage, steamer trunk, and pirate ship, it is built by Chloe and Brandon almost entirely from their recycled film sets, thrift, flea market, and junkyard finds. Originally featured on HGTV’s Tiny House, Big Living, it went on to garner international attention in print and online, going viral multiple times. The book takes readers on a journey through Chloe and Brandon’s story of building and decorating their home, which they have completely redesigned in the last few years. Like the house, every inch of this richly ornate book is packed with innovative ideas for small space living, including foldable sections of the house used as “his and hers” wings with custom-built wardrobes, desks, chairs, and vanity; a bathroom with a composting toilet and folding sink; even a guest bed. Chloe and Brandon share the joys of day-to-day small-space living: creating storage in every nook and cranny, baking pies in the tiny kitchen from fruit they’ve gathered; climbing into the dramatically curtained bed loft by candlelight. Sumptuously designed and illustrated, this book is a wildly original take on small-space living. Read more

  • Brilliant creatives build a tiny house
Format: Hardcover
Oh my goodness!! I absolutely LOVE this book. By far the best book on tiny house/vardo living out there. It’s the story of two brilliant creative set designers and how they came into the tiny house movement, and created the most artful and inventive tiny house builds I’ve ever seen. This book is packed with gorgeous photographs, detailed sketches, and instructions and suggestions, all interwoven into their wonderful story. It’s a joy to sit and pour over the pictures, and re read it again and again. I highly recommend this book. ... show more

  • Incredible!
Format: Hardcover
I’ll admit, I don’t really buy books much anymore. I utilize my local library instead. But when I saw this book, and I follow the author on Instagram, I reallllly wanted it. I can honestly share that it has exceeded my expectations. Not because the authors aren’t wildly talented, they are! This beautiful book is worth every penny and more. The price is incredibly fair considering just how much is packed into this book. It’s a stunningly gorgeous, inspirational, visual and written journey - there’s just so much on every page! I’m having my third look through/read right now because it’s just so filled with goodness. ... show more

  • Wonderful book
Format: Hardcover
One of the best reference/coffee table books I’ve purchased in years (I have NUMEROUS). I think what sets this book apart from most is that it combines 😵😵😵 gorgeous photography with sentimental writing and more “how-to” and detailed inspiration than is typical for books with soulful writing. Some of it has almost a scrapbook feel, some feels steampunk, and all of it has that Victorian vintage feeling that takes us to another place and time. There is a lot of thrifting and dumpster diving inspiration, which is unexpected because the inside of tiny home featured looks like a romantic movie set and the outside looks like a fantastical interpretation of an 1800’s train car. There’s also lovely fashion inspiration, artistic inspiration, and DIY-building hints and information. It will keep pursuers of beauty occupied for many hours. ... show more

  • A Feast For The Eyes …
Format: Hardcover
A visual feast for the eyes and a great story of the origin of this tiny house. The book is a clever presentation of practical “how to’s” shown with fantastical photos. Page after page of their steam punk and fairy-tale interiors - is a true testament to the authors’ tremendous creativity. Of all the workmanship - their ceiling design is my favorite - reminiscent of Baroque opulence. ... show more

  • Inspiring and creative!
Format: Hardcover
It's a gorgeous, whimsical book - filled with beautiful imagery and inspiration! It's perfect to have on the coffee table to intrigue guests. As a New Englander myself, there was lots of nostalgia and beautiful captures of life in this area. I highly recommend this book for anyone who loves antiquing, thrifting, creativity, artistry, and the outdoors! ... show more
