My dog fell in love with her home while I was putting it tgether. She sleeps in it all night and is happy to stay there whenever we ask her. Ididnt realoze it was designed for outdoor use and put it inside the house but I still love it and so does my dog. It s realwood but it smells strong, however, it seems like fading away. Missing piece & needed some adjustments. Cheap wood that won't last long but overall, not a horrible house. Using it for ferral cats when finished adding some insulation. Wouldn't pay that price again. There are cheaper ones out there for same quality.

Autumn is in full swing and that means, in the Pacific Northwest, the potential for a lot of rain. We needed a better place for the pups to hole up when it gets to coming down like out of a fire hose. I didn't get a pic of the completed item because the pics online show it better. It's not completely waterproof, of course, so I suggest you put it under an overhang or deck, some place that doesn't get the full force of heavy rain. That said, it works fine for what we got it for and there's enough ventilation up through the floor to keep things relatively dry. The dog house arrived as flat pack, of course. No damage. Putting it together was easy enough. I used a #2 philips head screwdriver and 10mm wrench for the body bolts, and a #1 philips head screwdriver for the hinges and struts. One note on the instructions: they show the struts going on after the hinges are screwed to the body. If you work alone, as I did, consider attaching the struts to the lid before screwing in the hinges, and then screwing the struts to the body. But all in all, the assembly was easy. It's cedar, so it ought to age okay, but it isn't a very good wood for structure. So we'll see. But I'm happy with it. ... show more
