Doesn't spray well the tips are junk, does take Makita Batteries. You have to completely power wash the whole damn thing every time after every little spray with takes about a half hour , junk, do not buy by original Makita

    • Made quick work out of a fence stain job
Not sure if I would trust this thing for painting to be honest since it sprays inconsistently and can leave small drops behind however for running about 2 gallons of stain on a fence it did a great job and was easy to use. It does burn through batteries so make sure to have plenty on hand.

    • Awful, just awful
This sprayer, doesn't have a pump, it relies on a venturi to pull the paint up from the paint reservoir to the nozzle. I could not get this to work even with 50% dilution of the paint with paint thinner. Trying to clean this running just water through it still would barely spray. I was so mad with this that I just threw it away. It's a mess and I didn't want to waste any more time with it and try to clean it for a return. Complete trash. Don't waste you time. ... show more

I had a paint project to do and was excited to use this sprayer as you are not tethered with a cord or air hose. I was using interior water based paint and had to dilute a bit to get the correct viscosity. It was easy to use and gave a nice even coat of paint. The reason for only four stars is that it is heavy to hold and after a while I developed a blister holding it. Also it used up a full battery just about the time the paint ran out, which was good except I had more to do. Just make sure you have a few full batteries handy so you don't get stuck with half a job done. ... show more

    • Convenient and works well
This is a very handy item for small jobs. You'll need to dilute your paint to get the right viscosity. You can then adjust flow, volume, and viscosity. The only downside is that it drains the battery fairly quickly, so if you don't have multiple batteries you may not be able to finish a larger job.

    • Slow and becareful of orange peeling
I grew up in the construction field and watch my dad using a commercial paint sprayer. His sprayer was always so quick and easy to use. I got this sprayer thinking that it would be similar, except without the 4ft wide fan of paint that my dad's had. After setting up this sprayer and making sure that I diluted the paint appropriately and putting the max flow tip on, this sprayer still was very slow. I tried using this to paint a door and it took me almost as long trying to spray it with this sprayer as if I had just rolled the door. The other part I didn't like was that the sprayer didn't spray out in an even pattern. Instead it was just a lot of little dots that come out fairly random. This meant that it was very easy to move too fast and create an orange peel effect. If you use this make sure to go slow and get plenty of coverage before moving on. The final disappointment in this gun was the weight. The unit itself is not heavy, but after you add 32oz of paint and the battery it gets heavy. Trying to hold this gun at a even level and keeping it steady really wore out my arm when trying to paint just one side of a door. After spraying one door I decided my arms and patience was not going to last through all 5 doors that I had to paint. I gave up on this sprayer and went back to my roller and brush. Overall this sprayer works, however it was not what I expected. If you have a small project and you want to spray slower than a can of spray paint then this will work for you. Otherwise I wouldn't waste your time with this as there are faster sprayers out there. ... show more

    • Very nice, low noise, even coating of paint/varnish
For a battery operated sprayer, I was surprised at how low the noise was and that it was a pleasant sound. Reminds me of a bubbling sound. I got a nice, even coating. There is a flow adjustment control and it is easy to disassemble and clean.
