I don’t have lots of trail cam experience but I bought this to monitor the drive on my farm. I was specifically looking for the option to have it send me photos / alerts when someone enters my property. I have it sitting back off a curve so I can see them coming and going but no one has noticed it yet. Seems very rugged. I added the solar panel charger and have been at 100% battery since I put it up. It has certainly been helpful and I have been able to send the pics to my neighbor when an unknown truck shows up. Can’t say how reliable it is as a security system but it sure beats nothing. The service is reasonably priced and the app is straight forward to use. I would buy again if I need more. ... show more

Installation and Set Up Easy! Camera Takes Good Quality Pictures. I Think the XB might Possibly Take Better Quality Pictures? LCD Screen a Little Small for Setting up Camera. I Found Using a Stick and Marker To Zero it in" Works Very Well. This Camera and Solar Panel Works Great and Stays Fully Charged. Both Worth the Investment. This would have been a five star but the setup Instructions were vague. Had a little difficulty figuring things out. Sent a message with my question to the manufacturer and never received a response. Figured it out eventually and the camera works beautifully.

The media could not be loaded. I can’t say enough about this technology in general, but if you’re looking for a cell cam (and you should), this one is awesome. No issues whatsoever. It’s very simple to set up and you can control the whole thing from your app. I went with the pro for the LCD screen and I’m really glad I did. Getting your aim point down is critical and the screen makes it seamless. I personally think the unlimited plan is reasonable at $120 / year, but adding an additional camera for $96 / year is a little ridiculous. If you want videos, it’s an additional $9 / month (still worth it for 1 camera in my opinion). Overall, the entry price to this tech is a little high, but the return on investment is immediate. Lastly, get the solar panel and never worry about battery life. If you really want peace of mind, pair the solar panel with a lithium pack and it may outlive you. ... show more

The camera was very easy to setup and the iphone app works great. The solar panel/battery is keeping the unit at100% charge. Tactacam contacted me directly to let me know they were releasing a new software update to increase the resolution of the images sent. That's great customer service! I bought this camera on the recommendation of a friend. It will not recognize the SIM card. The first card was damaged and I had to buy another one. The camera won’t recognize the new SIM card either. I followed the recommendations and pulled the card and wiped it multiple times. Still not working. Will be returning and looking for a more reliable trail camera ... show more
