    • Does NOT Work Fully for My Pro-Form 500 LE - First One Was Defective - Check that it works for more than the display!
I had to return this item twice. I was trying to replace the adapter for my Pro-Form 500 LE. The first T-Power adapter I received was clearly defective - I plugged it in and the screen lit up, but within seconds there was a horrible burning smell and the screen started flickering. Obviously that was not pleasant and didn't seem safe, so I immediately unplugged it and returned it as defective. After that experience I was afraid to try another after market plug so I ordered an OEM Pro-Form adapter on Walmart.com, but they sent me a Nordic Track adapter instead and it turned out their listing was wrong and they didnt have any OEM Pro-Form adapters. I could not find any OEM Pro-Form adapters online so I got desperate and ordered this T-Power one again, since it was the only one on Amazon listed for Pro-Form 500 LE still and the other reviews were good. I figured maybe I just got a bad one (and I sort of did). When I received the second T-Power adapter the screen powered up fine, and no burning smell, so I was happy initially. Then when I got on the elliptical I realized that while this powers the display just fine, it wasnt actually changing the settings for resistance when I pushed the buttons. I had seen this complaint on another review as well for another plug (I think), so be sure to check that it fully works for your model before you decide to keep it. These machines have a lot of bells and whistles - screen, fan, resistance, heart rate, etc, and it seems some of the replacement plugs power some but not all functions, so they are not truly compatible as stated. I can say that with confidence now that I tried it twice. The search continues. ... show more
