I bought these as the most reasonably nice pair of earbuds I could find that still had a mic feature. They've blown me away! They're so much more comfortable than classic earbuds. I think it's the wood that makes them lighter so it actually allows the rubber tip to expand more fully in-ear than other brands. My roommate can start a conversation right behind me when I'm doing things around the house and I have no idea with these in. LOVE that they come with a case and clip. It's something I didn't even know I needed in life, and now I don't want to go back. Sound seems amazing to me too but I'm not an audiophile so my opinion is not that of an expert. I love these more than bluetooth headsets: no charging, no confusion from bystanders when they're in and dangling from your ears about your willingness to talk (extra emphasis because the multi-colored cord makes this extra obvious), and switching sound from one device to another doesn't require navigating a menu after unlocking your screens. So up till now, i have gone through 5 pairts of nrg 3.0's and the reasons why I kept going back to them were the price, sound quality, and noise isolation. The new Nrg x is just like them except slightly better in every aspect, slightly better sound isolation, slightly better, crisper audio and the price is still that unbeatable 25 dollars. The sound is clear, no distortion at any volume and have a kick to the bass. The mids are distinguishable from the highs and the highs are crystal clear. I like that the earphones now have a slight tilt on each side so that I can easily tell which is left from right. My main complaint with all iterations of nrgs were the build quality of the remote. It just feels cheap in my hand, and several of my previous pairs have broken because of the low quality remote. Overall however, I find that this is stilil a five star product. Pros: Superb sound quality excellent aesthetics(your opinion might vary) Very good price for the quality you're getting Excellent noise isolation(maybe too good, as i cannot hear anything except my music when i put these in) Comes with a ton of different ear tips and a carrying case Cons: Remote build quality could be better Cord is nice but still tangles and somehow always starts twisting ... show more

    • Great for what it is
The first thing I noticed when opening these was that the impressive packaging -- these come packed in an elegant box, and the various sized silicone ear pads come in a headphone case....a nice and unexpected plus. The point here is that Symphonized is clearly trying to sell a quality product and not slap together the cheapest headphone possible to maximize profit. So, points for that. As to the headphones themselves, I'm of two minds on this. On the one hand, these are definitely bass heavy and NOT balanced. So if you like that overall sound, you'll like these. If you prefer something more neutral and natural, then you won't. On the plus side, the sound is also clear and not muffled, which is to say that sometimes bass heavy headphones sound that way simply because the high end is cut off. With these, the high end is actually quite good....it's simply that the low end dominates. I can't comment on durability since I just got these today, but overall I'd say that these are excellent *for the money*. Obviously, it's unfair to compare these to something like high end Shure -- they should be compared to other earbuds in the same price bracket, and in this bracket I suspect these are about the best you'll come across. Aesthetically pleasing headphones, great sound quality and noise cancellation. Especially for the price! Update: Unfortunately, the "quality" of these headphones were short lived. A couple months later they died on me. Only one ear bud works. Can no longer recommend these.

The NRG X certainly feel and sound like a step up from the 3.0 series, the build quality is extremely high for the price, and the sound has a full range of crisp highs, clean mids, and solid bass.     • Switch to the black earbud tips included
I had a pair of the NGR 3.0 that I bought in 2016 and they finally bit the bullet when I sent them through the washer and dryer. Anyway, I saw that the new X version had come out so I had to give them a try after having such a good experience with the others. On the first listen, the sound was mediocre which surprised me because the other pair that I had were so good. The issue was the clear ear tips that came the earbuds was deformed slightly. So, I switched to the black pair of medium ear tips that came included which had a wider opening. 100% issue solved. With that fix, the sound of the NGR X is just as good, if not better than the NGR 3.0. For comparison I had the PHILIPS ergofit, Sony MDR-XB50, and AIWA prodigy-1. With the ergofit you can tell the sound is coming from a tiny source in your ear with clear highs and artificial feeling bass. The XB50's steps up the sound stage like 10 notches and sound like proper earbuds. I would say the highs plateau after a certain point and the bass is loud, but you can't feel the vibrations. The NGR X sound like the whole package. The sound stage gives you a feeling like your listening with over-the-ear headphones. The highs are very crisp and the bass is super warm and resonating but not boomy. I would compare it to listening to music on a living room sound system, a relaxing and comforting setting. In comparison with the aiwa prodigy-1, the awia's give you a more pure studio sound. If the NGR Xs are crisp the the aiwas are crystal. The bass on the aiwa doesn't resonate like on the NGR X but instead is more punchy and direct. The reason I picked these up rather than switching over my awias came down to the 3.5mm jack design. The aiwa has no stress relief for when the wire meets the jack and I've had to send them back several times for broken wires.
