This is an update to my previous review. After being contacted from higher level support, I was sent a replacement tv. Got it mounted and it works great. Guess I got a defective unit. Huge shout out to Leah and Leeke for taking the time to address my issue. Previous review: Picture is outstanding and very bright. My only issue is when in direct sunlight (with 80 degree temps) it seems to overheat and the screen goes very dark. The sound is still on. I have to unplug it and put it in the shade for 15-20 minutes then it’ll work for another 30 minutes. I put a pool umbrella over it to shade it and it works fine. This is not why I bought it. Contacted support several times, but was told that was just the nature of the tv and good luck. Don’t advertise it as DIRECT SUNLIGHT if it fails in DIRECT SUNLIGHT. My $300 Vizio worked this well for $2000 less. ... show more

After a couple of weeks my TV turned on but didn't display any picture. The TV probably got knocked around during shipping and finally gave out shortly after setup. I did purchase an extra warranty through Amazon just in case! I went straight to Sylvox instead of Amazon just so they could be aware of the issue. They corresponded swiftly and I had a replacement within 2 weeks. They also provided a return label and I reused the box the new one came in. The TV uses Android/Google TV so all of the apps we currently use in the house are available. At one point, one app wouldn't download "app not available for current version of your software" or something similar. Just restart the TV and try again that seemed to fix it. The remote works well and was easy to connect via the initial TV setup menu. The TV menus are responsive and snappy. Bluetooth and wifi setup were both seamless. You can also connect it to a BT speaker, but keeping it connected all the times seems tricky. It's probably a fight between the BT speaker and the TV and a few other devices as well. The box also comes with a variety of mounting bolts if needed. A wall mount is NOT included. However, the mount you buy separately will also come with some bolts. The TV's enclosure is solid and quiet. The original TV I bought on Amazon had a loud fan noise, but this replacement unit directly from Sylvox is completely quiet. They said they had updated the design and removed the fan noise entirely, GOOD MOVE. My original purchase from Amazon didn't have any physical buttons (that I could find) to operate the TV. This replacement from Sylvox has a set of buttons on the side in case you cannot use the remote. The audio leaves a bit to be desired, but I find the MEDIA setting to have a good balance between speech and base. More often than not, you will use your own independent speaker, but it's not horrible otherwise. Keep in mind that the sounds is enclosed in the case so don't expect living room quality. This was a Father’s Day gift for my husband and it worked great right out of the box. We were only able to use it 2x before being out of town. While we were gone we had a few bad storms and 90+ degree weather. When we returned we noticed the tv would turn on then turn off. We contacted customer support through email and had a great experience. We exchanged a few emails and I sent a video of the tv. I was thrilled when they said they would be sending a replacement. We are looking forward to the arrival of the new tv and really being able to enjoy it. ... show more

The TV has a great picture (clear and sharp) However, there is no sound!!! I’ve tried all the setting and everything appears to be right, but I still can’t hear any sound. And to make matters worse, I can’t get in touch with Sylvox customer service! The automated message when I call states they are not accepting phone calls and can’t leave a message. Then I email them and also send them a message on their online portal…still no response!!! I have an expensive tv and can’t even use it, nor able to contact the manufacturer! Came in without a hitch - good brightness for what I need and picture quality is as good as one needs given it's outdoors and you're going to lose a lot of detail with the light anyway. Only issue was the remote - it was completely non-functional when I got the TV. Searched the web and found nothing. Called Sylvia and was given a simple fix - press and hold the HOME and BACK buttons until he Netflix logo starts flashing. Simple fix - should be in the manual or online - but alas, I leave it here for everyone to find ;) ... show more

Yes, we take it camping!! It fits our "roughing-it" lifestyle. The TV sat right there in the rain while we watched divisional playoffs outdoors. It worked GREAT. That big speaker below it helps the sound. As you might assume, a TV that's wrapped in metal, might not have the best sound quality. Thankfully, there's a headphone jack inside the weatherproof compartment, and it plugged right into my weatherproof speaker. If there were any improvements that I could want, they would be a place to attach a padlock/cable lock. While I had a lock on it, wrapped around the tree, it's only going through the mounting bracket, which can be removed with screws. Sylvox, help me make this more secure! The other thing I think it should have is an easy to remove weatherproof cover over all the ports. This thing has about a dozen tiny philips screws. Such a pain for how we use the TV. If we simply mounted this outdoors at home, then I wouldn't need frequent access. But as a mobile camping TV? I want in there. I paired this with a Roku, since the "smart" in this TV isn't all that smart. No apps like YouTube TV. Just the basics, like Netflix. ... show more
