First of all 2 different people told me they did not know how I could even see to drive as my headlights looked so dim when they see my car pulling up at 6:15am to work in the mornings. I did not need glasses at all and could see just fine to drive and see at a distance until---- After taking a statin drug for a little over 1 month for high cholesterol I suddenly one night, could not figure out why I could hardly see the guide on my 48" TV. Thought at first my eyes were strained from reading, but NO. After an extensive eye exam I was stunned to hear I suddenly have cataracts on both eyes now which is why I can not see at all. They were severe. I bought glasses until the operation BUT, also did research into new car headlights. I have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee and had already tried the lens cleaner on the outside which made them look slightly clearer but did not help with the lights and not being able to see the road. When I pull out of my driveway at 6:00am in the pitch dark I always wonder who is going to be walking with dark clothes on this morning and will I see them in time. I have warned my 2 children that drive about people walking that can not be seen. Its scary to me. ANYWAY, the glasses helped BUT - I just had these lights installed yesterday 2/5/14. ( would have done it myself but could not get the semi rusted screws out). A man at work did it in under 10 min:) Yes, I paid him 20 bucks, everyone was happy. I was skeptical about any difference new lights would make. I pulled out of my driveway this morning and was STUNNED!!!!!. I have been sitting here at work for 1 1/2 hours now and can not stop thinking about it. The road was " lit up like a Christmas tree" as I put it:). I could see for what seemed like 2 blocks down the street, not only directly in front of me but to the right and left. The lights lit up neighbors lawns to my right for 15 feet and the lane to my left was the same. I thought, this is what everybody else has been seeing all along. Maybe the lights are blinding other drivers I thought since it seems so bright on both sides. Guess what, I don't mean to be uncaring but I DON'T CARE!! I can SEE THE FREAKING ROAD NOW! I kept waiting for oncoming drivers to flash their lights at me because they thought I had my brights on but it did not happen. The bottom line is- these lights are wonderful and I only wished I had bought them sooner. I am the type that does not spend money on "car stuff". When something breaks I ( borrow money:) and get it fixed and that is about it. If you feel like your lights are not quite right and seem dimmer than others and feel you are a little skeptical about venturing out at night, buy them! You too will be stunned and happy you did. I cant wait until it rains now. I had to have my daughter drive me to work for the last several months when it rained as I could not see lines on road, nothing. Purchased this product july 2nd stopped working by Sep 15th. Checked fuse and connection point. Past return date so I contacted support by phone. So far pretty simple process they are sending a replacement honoring their 1 year warranty. Will update after replacement comes

Perfect fit, great light for non LED

    • prongs fit but too long - order dielectric grease too in case!
let's cut to it. The ad pics of the prongs is not accurate. That's really how it should be for the harness to fit all the way up to the back of the bulb. According to the prong stops, seems they know the length but got lazy trimming or setting the prongs to do so. Sucks because I needed them. pros: - really does have a star effect spread. I used the light against my fence to adjust the height and side alignment and between the solid beam of a normal one, this had a more focused spot (vs normal square) but the "star effect" had a better spread bringing more width overall. - the prong patterns fit - seems sealed and quality glass housing, solid prongs (not cheap thin feeling) - the light is truly white at night Cons: - if not fully nightime, the light doesn't seem so different than a normal one. At first I was disappointed. For reference I installed this later afternoon on an intermittently cloudy day. - this is a biggie, the prong pattern fit nicely but the prongs are too long by about less than quarter of an inch (maybe 4 mm give or take)? The harness butts up flush against the original light. This sticks out open. Modern vehicles may not be an issue but I was putting this in a classic flip light car (91 supra) so when the lids are down it may gather moisture somewhere. - order dielectric grease and plug/coat exposed contacts!! This was my biggest gripe. I'd trim the electrode but the manufacturer seems to know this and put metal tab stops to where the harness should sit up to. If I did trim it, I'd have to shave off those tabs as well and debur it. I am so very glad my OCDness made me order a tube of dielectric grease because it turns out I coated the prongs up and down/inside out and then packed it in strategic places plus the full exposed center of the harness plug. If I lose sleep over it I may actually go back in and trim the prongs/shave the stops to make it sit flush as original. ... show more
