The umbrella was small enough to fit in my wife’s travel purse. When it came time to use, we took the umbrella out, pushed the button, and “voila” the umbrella was up. It was just as easy to collapse when not needed. Highly recommend.

Arrived with thoughtful packaging - Thick cellophane sleeve and a nice black velvet case . Felt like a quality experience. When I pressed the button on the handle the umbrella opened with a bang but would not stay open. And then I could not get it closed all the way for a return. The handle would not retract. When preparing to return it I found a small card in the fold of the brown paper package it arrived in. It contained operating instructions for closing the umbrella. Turns out you have to press the handle button while at the same time pushing both ends of the umbrella towards the center. Got that? Not easy and takes strength. Solved the problem by putting the top of the umbrella on the floor, and then pressing the handle button while at the same time pushing the handle end of the umbrella down towards the floor. A lot of work. That said I had ordered the red and find it to be an attractive rich looking color. Time is short and I need the umbrella for a vacation to a rainy place so I will keep the umbrella. Maybe with use the opening and closing mechanism will loosen up. One bit of advice to the manufacture - make a larger more easily spotted instruction card.. ... show more
