well, not what I expected. I was looking for a hard-sided portfolio to protect art and this will not do that. It is a soft-sided bag that will in no way do what I need it to do without having to put boards in it or something. I should have known, that is on me. Having said that if you need a bag that is a light, thin canvas that does not protect your art this is for you. It appears to be well made. all the stitching and the straps appear well sewn and sturdy. Now I have not put any weight in it because the soft sides would crush my art but it looks like it would be fine.

My husband surprised me with this because I kept complaining about my plastic one from college falling apart. I donβt think he realized it is a soft canvas bag with not structural support but I was able to slide what was left of old one inside for the added support I needed for my use. My mom loves unstructured cases for her use so it just depends on your personal preference.

I expected this to be an art bag with reinforced sides to protect paper art pieces from bending but it's not. It is essentially a portfolio case-shaped duffle bag. That said, it's well made and is HUGE. Instead of returning it, I am going to reinforce the inside-sides with rigid cardboard covered with some type of archival quality paper or (preferably) fabric.

It is wonderful. I needed something in a hurry so I also bought a bag from Michaels for about the same price. The bag from Michaels broke and it was a waste of money. The quality of this bag is very well constructed and I can tell it will be long lasting. I feel secure that my Art pieces are in good hands with this bag. I absolutely love it.
