Having bought a couple sets from Cambridge Silversmith in the past because of quality I was really looking forward to getting a new set, (children are why we can't have nice things...). A previous set I owned was the Cambridge Allusion / Infinity. In comparison the flatware of the Swirl is way thinner, almost twice as thin, than the Infinity. So much so that the Swirl silverware is actually easy to bend! Having children who have an affinity for ice cream, bent spoons can be a nuisance and I detest bent tines on forks. Although very pretty as a set and all edges were smoothed (of the pieces I did receive due to the package being open during transit and returned) it seemed like a nice set otherwise. Additional: After receiving a replacement I was able to get some side by side pictures. The strength of the handles is more in the curved design rather than the thickness of material. While this is not as sturdy as my previous set it is not horribly bad either. It would not handle as I mentioned hard ice cream but does manage well enough for daily use. The knives are serrated and can cut rather well including meat. Added pictures for clarity of the forks, spoons and size of one set to the other.

I have enjoyed this silverware set. It is very beautiful. The only thing that I have complaints about is that the forks don't stab food very well. Also for my use I would have liked more tablespoons. This company should offer purchase for individual pieces.

If I could give no stars I would. I thought this seemed like a really amazing deal for the price, but the description says 18/10 so I thought it would be what it said it was. within a few weeks we started noticing rust. First on the serrated edge of the knives, but when I packed it up to return it was even worse than I realized - rust on the edges of the forks, handles of the spoons. The irony is the flatware that I was trying to replace was over 30 years old and had just started to rust - this stuff took less than 30 days! Definitely too good too be true. Shame on Amazon for promoting such an inferior product.

I have owned this set for many years. I just wanted to add more to my set. I have never had any problem with rust - except when I was in a move and misplaced my set and it was in my parents outdoor shed for a couple years before I finally found them. I didn't even recognize them, but they cleaned up perfectly. To this day this is the best flatware I have ever owned. Literally have had my first set for 25 years.

I love this flatware! Have been looking for one for a while that is durable and attractive but not overly expensive or gaudy, and this fit the bill perfectly. Lightweight, sturdy, and attractive. No scratches or missing pieces, nothing bent or poorly made. The item was shipped quickly and was well protected in it's packaging.

I realize that 18/0 indicates the weight, unfortunately because of the high ratings I assumed it was more formal in weight. It is great for everyday silverware but, I was looking for something a little heavier.
