" As long as it's within the lines" is not good enough for me. I want the thing I'm leveling to be as close center as possible. Otherwise, why bother? This 12" level is to replace one I've misplaced. But a 12" level is perfect for me and the things I do. A 6" is too difficult to get precise, and more than 12" is awkward. Happy, happy, happy! ... show more

I normally purchase Stabila levels: they are accurate, hold up well to use and just "feel" right. I could not find one that was 12", so I figured the Swanson was inexpensive and if I did not like it, I had little to loose. I was very surprised that it was build so well, accuracy was good and it was not "upset" when using my nail gun. I'll probably order another one and keep it my my tool bag. ... show more
