  • Great sight for the money
Style: Red Dot
I'm giving this product a 5-star review even though I returned it. The problem really wasn't with the scope per se, but with my vision. I was brand new to red dot scopes and didn't really know what to expect. I'm 73 and I learned that I have enough astigmatism to cause the dot to "star out", basically obscuring my target at more than about 15 yards. 25 yard shots were impossible for me. (So I'm going back to a traditional scope with a reticle and 2X magnification.) But for someone with better vision (i.e., minimal astigmatism), this scope is great. The build is very good. It feels very solid made from quality materials. The glass is clean and fairly crisp. (Mind you, I never used a more expensive red dot, so can't compare -- but it's good.) The dot is as bright as one could want it, and of course can be dialed down quite low. The sight is quite small and light weight, and fit very solidly on my red dot mount. (I used a Tandemkross Shadow Mount on my Ruger Mark IV 22/45.) Add that Swampfox customer service is top notch, both presale (I called with several questions before purchase, and they addressed them all with patience, kindness and a sense of humor) and post sale. There were only three minor problems that I shared with them, none of which were "deal breakers", and not contributors to my return. First, the brightness steps between illumination levels were very consistent, except the one that really mattered most: the step down from "visible in late afternoon light just before sundown" to one step below that where my astigmatism basically disappeared that one step was just too much diminution in brightness, going from a fairly bright dot to one I could barely see. It wasn't half dimmed, but more like 1/4th. Second, the elevation and windage adjustments were not tactile clicks. I didn't need audible clicks, but hoped for tactile clicks when I adjusted "one click". There just wasn't anything there that I could feel. I had to use visual position of the adjustment screw slot -- which is challenging for older eyes since they are recessed into the body and hard to see without good light. Third, and maybe worse, the adjustment for the elevation was too tight, and for windage way too easy. The tiniest movement would overshoot the "click". Again, none of those three issues were deal breakers for me. Just annoyances. Overall, this is a really fine red dot, especially for the money, and I fully recommend it. ... show more

  • Excellent sight and a great value.
Style: Red Circle Dot
This RMR footprint makes it compatible with a wide range of pistols, and the 1x22 configuration offers a clear sight picture. The 1x22 configuration provides a clear, unobstructed view of the target. This sight offers solid performance and features, making it a worthwhile addition to any pistol setup. This Kingslayer offers excellent value for the price. It was easy to mount, easy to use and looks great. I could not be happier with my purchase. ... show more

  • Super Easy to Use & Amazing Value
Style: Green Circle Dot
Super easy to mount on a rmr cut optic slide. I attached my green circle dot kingslayer to a tisas px-9, the kingslayer was a quarter mm too large and i had to use a mallet to get the optic flush with the slide cut out. No damage to optic. This is a great entry level optic for someone looking for a self defense optic. The circle is amazing, in a self defense situation put the circle over the target and you will get shots within the circle. The brightness settings are very bright. The dot on the green circle dot is an amber color, or at least thats what my eye sees. Pros: the green circle dot optic comes already pre-zeroed, i had to make only very minor adjustments. Once it's zeroed in, it's hard to miss. If you don't absolutely want a circle dot, I recommend you look at other low cost red dots that have shake awake. I think there's better value going that route. going from iron sights, it's going to take a lot of reps for me to be able to consistently bring the sight up to eye level. ... show more

  • My go to RD sight.

Married perfect to glock 17 with dovetail RMR mount. Hundreds of rounds later still dead on

  • Hindsight.
Style: Red Dot
I have mounted a Swampfox Kingslayer onto my Optics Ready M&P9 M2.0 4.25". I used the plate and screws that came with the pistol. After less than 100 rounds the optic flew off. I then used the screws that came with the optic. I paid the gunsmith at my range to mount them so I knew it was professionally done. About 100 rounds later it flew off again. I purchased screws from another company and used blue loctite. The screws I used before had the blue loctite on them, but this time I wanted to do it myself. About 50 rounds later it popped off. The nubs from the plastic S&W plate broke off into the optic's corresponding cutouts. I had to use my dremel to remove them. I purchased a steel adapter plate to replace the plastic one S&W provided. Finally, I used another set of screws and this time used the RED loctite. This is supposed to be "permanent". Yesterday after rezeroing the optic and firing 30 rounds, the optic was already wiggling. I had a friend on the range who let me use his torque wrench to ensure that the screws were at the right poundage. 100 rounds later, the optic is wiggling around again. At this point I don't know if it's the screws, the optic, or the weapon. I have friends whose optics are so secure they constantly use them to rack their slide. In addition to this mounting issue, every time I fire about 50 rounds, the dot moves right or up or both right and up. Every. Time. At this point, between the screws, the new plate, and the service charge for mounting the optic, I have spent nearly enough to get a Holosun. Hindsight, my friends. UPDATE: I reached out to Swampfox and S&W. S&W blamed the screws. Swampfox tried to help, then never replied. I got a screw kit from Swampfox directly and used the ones for my optic to slide. Same outcome, the optic flew off after less than 100 rounds. Also, the zero would not hold. At this point I have given up on Swampfox. I will not be wasting my money again on them. ... show more
