You'd never think there was lots of room for improvement in fuel cans, however, over time I've found them to become more difficult to get gas out of with all of the OSHA safety features. Fortunately, some fuelcanologist designed this thing and it does great. I bought one of these years ago when it was a little cheaper, but since then I've bought three more. The rotating spout on the bottom, combined with the lever on top to start the flow, works wonderfully. No longer do I spill it on the side of my lawnmower, etc. Filling it up is also easy using the spring-loaded thing on top of the lid. I'd say I probably sell at least one of these every time I take all of mine to the gas station to fill up. Inevitably somebody asks me about them, and then I give my sales pitch. If I had any complaints it would be taking the stickers off the side of the can is not easy, now I just leave them on.

After owning one of these a week, I bought a second one and may still buy a third. It’s expensive, but much cheaper than buying a regular gas container, getting frustrated with it and then buying this to replace it. It’s getting a lot of use due to the tornado that went through here. So far 5 days without power and counting. The spring cap you fill through is frustrating at best and a hazard at worst. The cap can’t be officially removed but I suggest you figure out a way to do so (not hard to do). In spite of a few flaws, far and away the best gas cans I own, and I’ve had a lot of them. Recommend!!!

I finally got tired of all the usual gas can configurations out there and decided to spend the dough on these to make my life a little easier. I couldn't be happier. My only, very minor complaint, is that the spring loaded lid has a tendency of popping off while I'm filling it at the gas station. This is far outweighed by the ease of use while I fill my equipment throughout the season. I was also slightly concerned about the moving parts, but I was pleased to see that the spout itself uses a double o-ring configuration to prevent leaks, the trigger prevents leaks even before these 2 o-rings, and, should these o-rings ever dry out or otherwise fail, they sell replacement parts on their website for a very reasonable cost. The wall thickness is incredible and I have no doubt that this thing is going to outlast me. Best of all? Built right here in USA. Can't recommend it enough. (Side note for the "2+" gal version: I use the 5gal for regular pump gas and the 2gal for my 2 smoke mix. Trying to get my oil into the 2 gal canister was kind of a process and absolutely requires a funnel. Even with this small annoyance, these are still well deserving of a 5-star rating.)

Bought this because i need a new gas cannister and the other ones i have bought in the past i found the "new style" of spouts very difficult to use and I either couldn't get the gas out or i spilled. This cannister is fantastic because its easy to use and you can just angle the spout instead of tipping the cannister to avoid spilling. It is pricey but for me it was worth it. Would definitely recommend.

when I first saw the gas can, I was thrilled with the design and the practicality. Then a few things caught my attention. When I first picked it up, I heard a little bit of a rattling sound. I couldn’t imagine what it was. I had to get around the gas cap filling area with its automatic safety catch the cannot be disengaged as able to finally force it open. Then I turned it upside down. A little piece of plastic that was the result of drilling into the can itself was left inside. This tells me the manufacture has quality control issues or the employee that put it together. Didn’t care about their job. See the picture for the piece of plastic that could’ve gone into any of my engines, so I had to blow out the inside of the tank to make sure nothing else was in there. The lid has a spring loaded closing device. That’s nice and everything but there’s an issue. The black portion that actually seals the area where the gas goes in held in place by ball on socket. This part will come off very easily. If you do not pay attention, I found out as I was trying to put the gas nozzle into the tank. OK, enough of the negative things. Once I got past the issues that I mentioned above, it seems to be working perfectly is a perfect solution? For my situation it is I’m actually happy with how fast the gas is dispensed. I had no issues with timing the release of the handle to stop the gas flow as others had mentioned. I guess I just understand that there’s fuel in the hose even after you close off the handle due to its length. Apparently others were not be able to understand that. The only thing I would change is the locking device that keeps you from removing the fuel lid. Most other gas cans have a loaded retention point that keeps you from being able to rotate the cap off unless you depress it. This one does not and that is what I would change. I’m giving it four stars due to the quality control of leaving trash inside a gas can they could ultimately get into an engine. I’m also including the locking cap as another issue engineer should’ve solved after they designed it.

If you have seen the videos, you know how this gas can works. It is really cool. All of the cool stuff shown in the videos is spot-on as far as I can tell. Now for the down sides, aside from the price... There is a little yellow screw cap that fits on the nozzle. Once you unscrew it, it is not tethered and can be easily lost. This is the single largest design flaw I have found with this product. The fueling trigger has a safety and the safety can be a little awkward to disengage. However, it works to prevent the trigger from being depressed when you don't want it depressed. Fueling is accomplished by gravity and air pressure, the trigger opening the value to allow air in and gas to flow out of the bottom of the can. That works fine. The flow is a bit slower than I am used to, but works well, except when you release the trigger to stop filling and there is more filling that will occur as the line drains and as you tilt the unit to the side to get out the last dribbles. If you aren't careful, your lawnmower will go from full to spill. In other words, it isn't fool proof, but it is an improvement over traditional cans.

I have two of these. One for diesel tractor and one for commercial zero turn mower. Both hard to fill and hold good bit of fuel. Tractor I set tank on hood and run hose over to fill and let it go, kubota. Zero turn I sit tank in seat and run hose over, spartan mower. Both tanks have worked perfect. No issues.
