this thing works great for what I use it for, I live in perhaps the windiest place on the planet, Chicago doesnt even come close. I got sick of picking up the lid to 5 gallon buckets on the other side of the yard and dealing with the bucket being filled with rain water, this stopped all of that, its very strong, the lid is heavy and attached, it has a foot pedal which is great and its made of super strength plastic so no worries about rusting out or anything. its a bit pricey but considering the quality of it its not a big deal, ypu get what you pay for. ... show more

Does the job!!! We have 3 dogs and a small back yard so poop is a problem. We decided to try using the Black Oily Waste Can to collect the poop. We put in a black kitchen trash bag and regularly clean the yard placing poop into the waste can. Once a week we empty the can into our trash can for collection by the garbage company. No more smelly trash can in our garage. I've even started putting the poop bags from dog walks into the Black Oily Waste Can to further eliminate any odor in our garage. We keep the Black Oily in our back yard and never have any odors come from it throughout the week.....except for when we open the lid to make our 'deposits'! Love this. ... show more

You can’t line it with a bag because of the kid assembly. Also, When you step on the pedal to open it, it slides away from you in the floor- it needs grip-feet. Plus it only opens it about 2-3 inches making it hard to put dirty rags in without making the lid dirty by lifting it with your hand. Defeats the purpose oft he foot pedal. ... show more

Safety can arrived very quickly. Seems to be sturdy, the top seam is somewhat ragged probably caused by construction. Product will be used for cloths or rags used with professional artists oil paints and thinners that will be deposited in a container then placed in the safety can. Locally, public works offers events to recycle hazardous material 2x a year so the waste in the safety can will be allocated to professional staff at these events. Safety can also be used by artists who use encaustic or cold wax products . I would recommend lining the can or at least enclosing hazardous material before placing in the can then recycling within your local community. ... show more

    • Great for storing ice melt during winter
I had been using ice-melt during the winter and using the white plastic bucket that the salt came in as the storage canister duing use. The problem with that approach is that the bucket lid is difficult to pry off while wearing gloves and it's 10 degrees outside. I purchased this Eagle waste can after seeing them being used for ice-melt where I work. They use a lot more salt there than I use at home, but I appreciated the ease of the foot-operated opener to access the salt. The bucket arrived in great condition and the supplied warning sticker for "oily rags" was easy to remove for my use. I discovered that the 5 gallon bucket my ice-melt comes in can fit (with the snap-on lid removed) entirely inside this 10 gallon waste can, with the snap on lid set to the side inside the waste can for later use. This worked out even better than atticipated. At the end of the season, I then removed ice-melt bucket from the waste can and snapped the lid back on to keep moisture from the air from being absorbed by the salt. ... show more

It arrived broken. The foot latch didn’t work but probably due to piece broken off. It wasn’t package properly. Just placed in a box? Item was more fragile then expected ands small. But maybe my fault for not checking.

    • The answer to dog poop 💩

We purchased this for a dog poop can in the yard. We have gone through a few in the last few years ~ it takes a sturdy can to hold up to the Florida heat and bugs! We have an insert with a bag inside the can and it works great for us! So far we are very happy with it!
