I’m really confused as to why this mount has so many negative reviews. It really made my decision harder but I decided to buy it anyway and see for myself. This mounts works as described and was really not hard to understand. I believe the manufacture has updated the design which I feel is important to mention. The adjustable arm has a notch at the end of it to prevent it from sliding off. It’s literally impossible for the projector to slide off unless you intentionally install it the wrong way. The instructions are no different than IKEA instructions and was easy to understand and not hard to read at all. The only thing I’ll say is be careful how much you tighten the sliding arm. The screw in the arm has teeth on the back and if you screw it too tight it will be impossible to undo once the weight of the projector/gravity starts to pull on it. This happened to me and I actually had to ask for a replacement which Amazon quickly sent out. It is very sturdy and I can guarantee you’re projector will not fall of. It would rip from the ceiling down before this thing comes apart, it’s that sturdy. Even though the manufacturer says it can be mounted on a wall, I truly believe this should only be mounted on the ceiling. This is really designed to handle vertical weight and I can see this being a problem for horizontal wall mounts. The mount naturally has a bit of wiggle to make fine adjustments to it, but when mounted sideways I could see this being a nightmare to get your projector level and staying level. So if you’re mounting a projector on this ceiling this is the one for you, if you’re trying to mount it on a wall proceed with caution.

Very well constructed universal fit ceiling or wall mount unit. i used it to hang my projector from the wall which puts the weight hanging down from the arm on a lateral plane rather than hanging from the ceiling and it worked flawlessly. You do have to assemble the part that mounts to the projector but it is very simple to do. i am very pleased with the quality and design of this unit, i have already purchased a second one for an upcoming projector project that i will be doing soon. I highly recommend this mount, it is a great deal for the price.

This was literally the only projector ceiling mount that worked for my Epson Home Cinema 6100. I even had to return another that did not live up to its description - it was too short. This ceiling mount has served us well for about two years now. It's sturdy and does the job. Good value for your money.

Pros: This ceiling mount is very sturdy and doesn't stand out. Most people don't even realize we have a projector mounted until we point it out. I love how you can hide the cables inside the stem. The opening is wide enough to route a 3 prong power cable through it. The kit comes with 4 mounting arms for the projector, our Epson EF-100 only has 3 mounting points so I just didn't use the 4th and I was able to adjust the angles for a perfect fit! Very versatile. Since our ceiling outlet is centered on the room but the projector lens is not, I have to tilt the arm sideways a little and the projector mount downward. The the fasteners do a great job holding it firmly in place. Very solid design. Cons: none. Any cons I would have would be due to user error or impatience during installation. Advice: make sure that you center the projector before mounting it because the projection angle makes a huge difference to how "square" your image is. Also, don't over tighten the screws. It's tempting but tighten them just enough so the joints don't move. The projector is basically just hanging there anyway, so you just need to tighten the screws enough so it doesn't swing or sway, or to fight gravity if you have to tilt it downward to project where you want it to. Also if you have to make adjustments, loosen the screws first. Forcing it to move while the screws are already tightened will wear out the metal or could break the screw if you have it on too tight.

I can see where this mount will fit virtually any projector, given the multiple ways it can be configured to line up the brackets to the mounting holes. You will find there are many ways you can do it, so it is a bit of a puzzle to find the best way to mount it. I used it for a ViewSonic PX701HD which has a three mounting holes in a triangular pattern. I only needed two of the arms for this, and I was able to center the post at the projectors center of gravity, so how it hung while the screws were loose was already close to where it needed to be positioned. I also turned the post 90 degrees, which was a better position for my wires to go through. The other advantage to turning the post is you can get some left-right fine adjustment if your projector has no horizontal keystone correction. You can see in the picture, mine is adjusted just a bit to the left to get a perfect horizontal alignment with the screen (without having to move the screen or the whole mounting bracket). It is very solid with all screws tight, even through there are no washers provided with most of the screws. Projector position has not moved a bit since I set it up about two weeks ago.

So, the washers do not fit over all of the screws. This made it more difficult to put together because I had to find other washers. The stability is not great, I have tightened down all the screws and can still move the projector side to side and up and down. It stays in place but bumping into it could easily mess up the alignment. I would suggest doing the chord management one step earlier, as the plugs do not fit through the openings if you plan to put the chords up through the mount. Overall, it works, was simple enough to put together, if annoying with the washers.

I purchased a cheaper model projector to put in my shop to use for karaoke and summer time hang out. Versus building a shelf from the ceiling of my shop, I wanted a cost efficient bracket. I wasn't sure of the exact height, so this bracket was perfect for that has you can adjust it ever how you want, versus a lot of the others have fixed holes for adjusting. The price was great.... After tightening down the adjustments, there still could be some movement, but honestly, once you get it set up, nothing shouldn't be touching it allowing to to move. So, I gave it 5 stars for the product for the money.

The white universal mount is advertised as "3-In-1 Projector Wall Mount Bracket - ceiling installation, sloped ceiling installation, and wall installation" for projectors up to "30 lbs". This is patently false. Even my modest 8 1/2 lb projectors cannot be successfully wall mounted. Returning all 4 mounts. Here's why: The two-piece extension bar is very thin metal, and one of its pieces is a sleeve with a slit going all the way through it. Essentially it's a "C" in cross section. So when using the extension bar as a cantilever wall mount, the projector weight causes the bar to twist torsionally. I tested the bar installed both ways (slit to the left, and slit to the right), and no matter on which side I mounted the extension bar slit, any weight on the end causes the side of the projector to significantly droop downwards on the side of the slit. There is no mechanism on this mount to correct for this rotation when the projector is wall mounted, except possibly to mount the wall bracket itself at an angle instead of straight up and down. But then, who wants a projector whose position on the screen depends on a delicate balance between gravity and a metal's elastic deformation? Wouldn't you rather buy a mount that is rigid enough to support the weight? My projector was less than 1/3 the weight advertised. My projector was to be mounted only 9" from the wall (it's an ultra short throw projector). The amount of sideways rotation the projector experienced was on the order of 5 degrees. I had other projectors that need to be mounted 13" away from the wall, and their deflection was about 10 degrees.
