    • It's like Friday the 13th the series meets Beverly Hills 90210
I wasn't sure what to expect with this and am pleasantly surprised. After watching a few episodes of this it seemed very similar to the old TV series Friday the 13th series (where they chased down cursed objects). Just more corny drama/girl chasing stuff. After a few episodes I got past this and started thoroughly enjoying the shows. As much as I liked Friday the 13th the series - the really bad video quality was hard to deal with. So this was a welcome change coming in blu-ray. There were warnings about the discs not working in all blu-ray players. I have a regular blu-ray US region player and a region free player. So far I HAVE NOT had to use my region free player for these. My regular blu-ray player has worked fine. I would have given this 5 stars...but since in my opinion it was so similar F13 series I dinged it one (several episodes were very similar to this old show released back in the late 1980's). ... show more

When I saw this box set would be released I immediately pre-ordered it and waited for the day it would arrive! When it got here I opened it up and checked everything out. Overall, I like the box set but I feel like they could have done better with a few things. Okay....a lot of things. Maybe I'm just a crazy fan who wants perfection on his favorite show, but I know some other people will want to know these things BEFORE buying it. All these reviews just have people reviewing the show. Yes, we know the show is good, but how is the quality of the actual box set? Anyways, here's my review on it. Pros : -Box looks great and makes for a good display -Contains all bonus features -Has a booklet which describes each episode -Artwork on each case looks nice and high quality (they are screencaps and not their own pictures like the individual seasons have but eh i don't mind) Cons : -The discs don't fit well in their cases (some slip out of the middle ring, etc.). Was very disappointed with this as this whole set costs about $350 and they couldn't make sure to have high quality cases for the discs?? Pretty stupid -The disc artwork seems watered down. I took a picture of one of the discs so you can see. I may be nitpicking here but I would have liked to see some more color there. It seems bland and you can barely make out the symbols in the background. Doesn't match the energy of the show imo -Again I might be nitpicking here but I know some people would care as well. The actual cases have varying designs. They are not all the same. What I mean by this I don't mean in terms of artwork. I mean the actual cases themselves. The plastic! I took pictures of that as well. Why do some have more prominent lines of separation while others do not. It's noticeable and just weird imo. Why not have them be the same? I don't think this is a defect from what I've seen but if it is indeed not a defect then I just need to know why they made this choice. -I don't know why they did this, but they made the bonus features for Season 15 in its own small paper case while the other seasons had their bonus features on the discs. Maybe the bonus features for Season 15 needed more storage and needed to be on their own disc? But why put it on its own in its own little paper case?? Again, nitpicking maybe, but this box set just seems to not like uniformity. It's everywhere! Those are the pros and cons. Yes, i probably went overboard on the cons but i think some fans would want to know these things before buying a $350 box set. I mean I can't say I would return it or anything but it speaks volumes about how much the people actually care about the box sets and their quality when the DISCS WONT EVEN FIT. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. Uniformity in the cases would have been nice but instead you got some cases having some designs and others looking like the plastic is broken. You can look at the pros and cons and weigh for yourself. Have a look at the pictures too for clarification. This was just my two cents. Thanks for reading. I'm gonna go and rewatch the whole series again now!! ... show more

Supernatural is worth buying up until Season 8. I am a half fan. I love when Sam and Dean were saving ppl and hunting things. Even when Crowley and Castiel showed up in the script it was awesome, but the show got disappointing after the Leviathan episodes. It seemed to be more about angels and God (which was a joke). They occasionally threw in a good hunting episode to keep me engaged but for the most part the show went off the rails. Sam and Dean became predictable which was really them switching roles about how they felt about each other. One catastrophe being stopped just opened the door for a new one. Metatron was just a ridiculous name for an angel. It just became a garbage show Season 8 and beyond. Don't buy the box set. It's only worth the first 7 seasons. ... show more

Supernatural fans; whom I found to be amongst the most friendly and welcoming while also, for the most part, being the least toxic fandom I’ve come to be a part of; gets the set they deserve. Encased in a hard slip case with a great design, holding hard case Multi-Blu-ray cases, each in their own slot, I can’t think of a better way to enclose and display this collection. Including a high quality booklet with high gloss photos, episode count and descriptions, as well as a heartfelt thank you from series creator Eric Kripke, I’m glad I waited for not only the entire series to become available, but at a ridiculously affordable price during a sale. A small downside, precious collectors will have to do without this booklet as it is part of the complete series and is not included in the separate 15th season Blu-ray release, so those who’ve gotten each season individually have a valid criticism of CW’s release strategy. As for the show, I was an early adopter and was pleasantly surprised at the consistency of quality the show held throughout its long run; with only one season falling short of my expectations, though even that season gave us fans one of its most beloved characters. Another thing that surprised me was how close the entire cast became. The mutual respect they had for each other as performers translated to a tight familial bond onscreen that was tremendously believable. I love this show and though it is available to stream for now on Netflix, this is the only way to get the original music tracks first aired and as a fervent believer in physical copies, you couldn’t ask for a better set. ... show more
