  • Perfect for anyone looking to get into comics as well as diehard Batman and Superman fans alike
Format: Hardcover
This book is great, a few of the one shots and annuals throughout can be kind of boring, but all in all it is a great book with several amazing stories within. The book and authors within perfectly display what makes Batman and Superman so awesome, it explores just about every aspect of their relationship, and what they think of each other. Another great thing about this book is that it can really fit anywhere in continuity, someone who is brand new to comics can pick this up and enjoy it just as much as a long time fan. It really is awesome, and as a Batman fan it’s awesome to get some amazing Superman stories as well. I would say just about 95% of the stories within are about perfect, there is plenty of action and emotion within, with a surprising amount of humor scattered throughout. There is a large array of characters in this book as well, so don’t think it’s a book with only Batman and Superman. If you can get this book for anywhere under $100 I would say it is a must buy, if I were to be someone who frequently bought books over that price, it would say it is also worth the retail price of $125. Altogether an awesome book, with great stories, characters, and artwork alike. It was so good I decided to write my first ever review about it. I hope this helped anyone 😁. ... show more

  • Classic Team Up Volume
Loeb's classic team-up volume that features two distinct story arcs. The first half of this collection features Superman being blamed by then President Luthor for a Kryptonite meteor headed towards the Earth (for reasons). The American government and superheroes try to ask Clark to turn himself in only for Supes to go on the run aided by only his friend and ally Batman. The second half of the collection features the revelation that entombed within the Kryptonite meteor was a shuttle carrying Superman's cousin Kara: Supergirl. This retelling of Supergirl's origins sees Supes and Bats arguing over whether or not Kara is a threat that can be trusted. Eventually, Batman tries to get Wonder Woman's aid in raising and training Kara among the Amazons only for the latter to be taken hostage by Darkseid who sees Supergirl as a potential recruit for his armies. The latter story arc is my favorite as the battle between Superman and Darkseid is a classic that sees Supes pile driving his enemy into the Source Wall (the edge of the universe effectively). The opening arc is good as well as it explores the inherit trust between Superman and Batman. You may also recognize the latter arc as the basis for the Superman/Batman Apocalypse animated movie. Overall this is a fun collection that is a great buy for fans of Supes and Bats. The art is solid though I have a hard time deciding which style I prefer. The first arc features a more cartoonish style and the character models seem blockier and more rounded. The second arc features better art, in my opinion, though it is sharper in the edges and the female characters are often a bit too over the top in terms of everyone seeming hyper sexualized. ... show more

  • Excellent packaging. Arrived in pristine mint condition. Fun stories as well.
Format: Hardcover
For a book this size and weight to arrive in perfect condition, it was packed extremely well. It was delivered exactly on the day predicted. I am very happy with this purchase. It is a fun read. A lot different from the World's Finest stories from the 1960's and 70's. The writers and artists have interesting takes on the origins and histories of the two title characters. The gap after Crisis and before the new 52 allowed a the writers a lot of freedom to change things. As long as the reader goes into this without a demand for strict continuity, it is a very fun read. ... show more

  • The World’s Finest Against the World Itself
Format: Kindle
There’s nothing new to say of Superman and Batman as individual characters, but what I most enjoyed in this book is the interactions between the two, as well as their personal thoughts of one another. I was truly moved by the level of respect and trust between them, especially in the face of adversity with threats like President Lex Luther, Metallo, and Darkseid. This friendship is tested when Clark’s cousin Kara comes to Earth due to Batman’s natural suspicions of her. However, this is a strong, exciting page-turner, and it’ll make you reach for Volume Two as soon as your finished. ... show more
