The HD669 are closed-back, circumaural headphones designed for professional monitoring applications. Although suitable for a wide range of applications, the exceptional attenuation of external noise makes the HD 669 particularly useful for use in a high-noise environment. The balanced, high-definition and clarity of the HD-669's sound ensures that a professional sound engineer can have full confidence when recording or monitoring. Its patented rugged headband structure provides long-lasting durability even under harsh conditions, yet its light weight and optimized mechanical pressure provide long-term comfort. The HD669 comes with 2 detachable straight cables: The short cable is 1 meter long for personal sound source on-the-move applications and the long cable is 3 meters long for professional monitoring applications. These cables can be connected together for even more distance if desired. Included cable clip can secure detachable cable from pulling out by accident.

Nice large ear pieces don't smash my ears. sound is good but if you are into tons of bass, the response isn't quite there like I've experienced with other phones. I use them probably 6 hours a day at work and they never annoy me

For the price..., a small modification and it could be good. (Actually) small distribution of this model (HD669). These headphones are (at first) not obvious whether you will like them or not (despite the reviews on the Internet). To know; they are 56 ohms (*the basic HiFi standard is usually 16-32 ohms, with not a big need of amplification). * For maximum performance; it will be necessary to amplify (by a headphone audio amplifier, available in a few models and qualities) to really be able to judge (after running in) their possible quality and inpedance of 56ohms. Results (after a few months of testing): > RUNNING-IN; 100 to 150 hours of operation* minimum. * Run for a very long time (without necessarily having them on your head) to make them more sensitive (less harsh), more receptive to all the (possible) richness of the audio. By having quality musical pieces (CD.., MP3 320kps, with good level of bass, *medium, treble - random or complete). > THE CUSHIONS* provided with (stock) are of very low quality (but usable initially, for the price). Their comforts are more realistic for a short term. * It is better to change the cushions (about; 20$ USD) for a model (of many brands) compatible with the HD669 - HD668 or with other models and brands of the same size. Regulars size; 2cm thick, or XL; 3 cm (*recommended) in genuine leather, velvet, etc. Easy to remove and install (with a little bit of technic; see the methods on the internet). > THE AUDIO CORDS provided are; are a bit small or a bit too big (but, that's a small concern only). > HEAD PRESSURE; you have to work them, but preferably after getting new replacement cushions (2 or 3 cm XL). Pleasant observations: > THE BASIC DESIGN is sober and forms a sort of vintage to (still eternal current) modern style. > THE SOUND becomes enough bassy, precise, detailed (at least equal to the quality computer speakers, but with the difference of the impedance (56ohms over ears) which helps you to feel in a 3D sound universe, enough large (soundstage) to feel good listening front of the show (better for leisure), more than in the middle of the music group (more for studio monitoring)... > It comes with a protective acrylic pouch, the audio adapter, the safety clip - to prevent the wire from disconnecting from the headphones (but unfortunately not from the amp...) and 2 lengths of cords (connector quality, well insulated). > PLASTIC CONSTRUCTION is "plastic", but light and seems quite resistant to a possible falls. The parts are well assembled. > THE HEAD HOOP (with 2 cushions) is unconventional but very comfortable on top of the head. To finish: - After some modifications; you will have HIFI quality headphones (entry level) for about 2 to 3 times less money than those of most major brands. - The manufacturer and the model (HD669 or HD668) is recognized by the manufacturers of replacement parts. - Possible or hypothetic resale (second hand) value (with mods). Tips: - Get yourself a headphone amplifier (from 60, up to 3-600 ohms). - Adjust your equalizer (wmp windows, mac...) if you have one or look for free software (android, PC, Mac) like; (on PC - Mac) Peace.., or on android; quality enhancement applications or pro equalizers... * But use it only after the roding period. They're OK, but not worth the praise that many have given them. You MUST change the pads to get anything close to other closed-back cans. I went with ZMF Ori pads, but only because I had a set around. I would not recommend spending $40 on headphones and then $60 on pads. For $100 there are better options, but if you have a set of ZMF Ori, or Brainwavz angled.... get these and play around with them. I am going to be modding these to see if I can bring down the treble a bit more, but if you don't care about non-detachable cables then buy the Monoprice Retros and save some cash. ... show more

The drivers in these headphones rival anything in the 175 and below range. If you can actual get a chance to buy a pair do it. You will need new cups and a new cord and adapater to fit a new cord but it is worth it. In total I have 60 into mine and it blows away some headphones in the $200 range.

These cans are all that and a bag of chips. There are no flaws in this headphone other than they might be a little bright on the upper end. Once broken in they are awesome for gaming and for listening to all genres of music. For the price give them a try you won't regret it.

These headphones use a short, dangling cable with a male 3.5mm plug for their detachable cable solution. This flimsy, dangling bit of cable bends in all directions which causes the wiring inside to wear and become damaged over time. I have provided a short photo tutorial on how to make the cable more stiff. This mod will stiffen the most flexible part of the cable. This is not a total solution as the cable will still, to a lesser extent, flex around the point where it clamps into the headphones. For this mod you will need: Small Phillips Head Screwdriver, Disposable Plastic Drinking Straw, Heatshrink, Lighter The earpads are hard, not comfortable. There are 10-25 dollar alternatives that are much better. The partial headband is also hard, but it does not press into my head much so it's not as uncomfortable as the earpads. If you want something with decent sound for the price these are great. The HD-681 EVO have much deeper bass if you're into that. I recommend to use a short detachable cable attached to the headphones with a long detachable cable attached to the short detachable cable, never detaching the short cable from the headphones and only detaching the long cable from the short cable. This may increase longevity. ... show more
