This piece of furniture is sturdy and water resistant while looking great. The storage function works really well. The included leg caps to prevent floor scratching are pretty delicate and extra care has to be taken not to scratch your floor if sliding it around.

    • A bargain for students!
You get what you pay for - my roommate and I are currently college students, without a lot of money to spend on furniture that we'll only use for a year. This took a couple hours to assemble alone (but I needed help lifting all the heavy pieces at the end), and the instructions weren't great (no words, just pictures). But, I managed to get it done without too much fuss - they don't really explain how certain pieces should fit, which I think is where some negative reviews come from. But I managed to figure them out and looking back, I wasn't frustrated at the complexity of the build, just the tediousness and time that it took. Overall, the look of this table isn't too shabby. It's got a nice dark wood look, but it will pick up oil and fingerprints fairly easily, so be wary of that. It's not the most chic piece of furniture, but it has a decent amount of storage on the bottom and when you lift up the top. The table itself is nice and sturdy. I wouldn't recommend sitting on it obviously, but it holds up laptops, textbooks, big plates of food and many drinks, even with the table top lifted. The one thing that I wanted to mention was the way the table top lifts up and closes - there is nothing slowing or stopping the hinges from slamming the table top shut or whipping it open. It will make a loud sound if you just push the top and let it fall, instead of guiding it and adding a bit of resistance to gently let the top down. Is this tedious and annoying? Yes. But is it a dealbreaker? For us, no. You (and any other guests that use this) will learn quickly to use your hands to lift and close the top slowly. For a $100 coffee table that doubles as a dining table for 2 in our small apartment, this is great. It's functional. It has a little bit of a learning curve, but it's worth it. The dark wood makes it look more expensive than it is, and the lift top function is exactly what we needed with limited space. ... show more

I like that it is smaller and the room isn't being taken over by a coffee table, but also u can pull the table up to eat on. Some spots didn't have the right pre drilled holes so we had to make our own. But for the price it's perfect

Pros - The color matches photos and blends with my furniture! Dense press-wood so its sturdy and holds lift off section. Worthwhile purchase. I am happy with finished result. Cons - Assembly. Agree with some other reviews. The body was well done; however, the lift off section was incomplete and had incorrect holes. Tools I had to use : Tape measure for dimensions, marker or lead pencil to mark on dark wood, square to line up holes, right angle screwdriver or stubb screwdriver to install spring piece, and power drill to start the holes because you will break the screws otherwise. Strongly recommend the manufacturer to place pre-drilled holes in the lift off section and base for buyers. Labels. The made in China and Hand Hazard labels are very noticeable and take work to remove. ... show more

Received it three days earlier than expected. I opened the box right away to make sure no parts were missing or broken. Always make sure to do a check list before putting it together to make sure everything is good. Assembling was super easy if you have common sense. I do agree with some others that the directions are horrendous, but if you have an eye for things you will have no problem. It took me less than an hour to put together. The table itself is pretty heavy and solid for press wood. Not sure what some of the bad reviews were about, I can see getting broken or missing parts but some of the reviews are just dumb and user error to me. One person reviewed it and said it slammed down to hard. Here's an idea, help ti down and not just shove it down...lmao. I did take extra precaution and put extra screws in the brackets for the top, I also went to walmart and bought the self stick furniture pads to put between the top half and storage half. All in all we love it and it looks great. Hope this review helps some of you out. Photos are included and show the extra screws I put in. I hope the seller of this product sees these reviews and puts in better directions for the ones who have a hard time with just pictures. ... show more
