  • Two Flaws in Garden, but the Company is Outstanding
Style: 12 Sponges
Final Update: After my initial review that stated I had a couple of issues with the Minosoo hydroponic garden, the company immediately contacted me and offered me a full refund, as stated below. Since the light and pump worked fine, I was just going to keep it, and maybe see if I could just get a discount on one of their future gardens/products. However, I was shocked to see that the company just took it upon themselves to issue a **full refund** on the garden and accessories/bundle (sponges, etc.) that I had purchased. They said that if someone isn't satisfied with their product, their policy is they get a refund, or replacement. Within the specified period, of course. How's that for service? No waiting a week on an email reply from customer service, or maybe not getting one at all. I was also told they are coming out with "a few new models in the second half of the year." Since they've had a couple of reviews about the timer issue on the garden, that has been addressed, and considering everything else, the gardens from this company may prove to be the best at a more affordable price. The (36) watt light on this garden even beats the Bounty Basic (30) watt light. I've now used the garden long enough to know that it works very well. My plants are growing just as well in it as some others are in (2) Bounty Basics, and for whatever reason, better than the ones I have in another brand garden. It was just a pain when the light would turn on when it wasn't supposed to and wake me up. I have (2) AeroGarden Bounty Basics, and they are nice, but I feel like they're just a bit on the expensive side. When I bought this garden it was about half the price of a Bounty Basic, and I got many extras with the 'bundle' I ordered, and AG has since raised their price by about $24 on the BB, as I mentioned in another part of the review. The light does extend to (24) inches on the Bounty Basic, but this one extends to, I believe it's (18.5) inches, and that is still better than many gardens, including the AG Harvest, and it's perfectly adequate for what I'll be growing in it. I'll be watching for future gardens from this company. I now know that if I do have a problem the company stands behind their products 100%. Review Update: After seeing my initial review (below), the manufacturer very promptly reached out to me, expressed their regrets that I had a somewhat negative experience with their product, and offed me a **FULL REFUND.** Although I do have a couple of issues with the garden, considering the higher powered light (36 watts) than most similar gardens have, the fact that the light clearance is greater than on many other gardens that have only a 12 inch clearance, and the fact that I got the garden "bundle" which included many extras, and for what I thought was a very reasonable price, I am not totally dissatisfied with this garden, not at all, and it's almost not worth having to find a place to transplant my plants to, and box this garden up to send it back. The fact that this company is very responsive and cares that their customers are satisfied means a lot. I just replied to their email, and I don't know if they sell other models of gardens, or are perhaps coming out with an updated version of this model, but maybe I can get a discount on another garden that doesn't have these issues, as I would absolutely give this company another chance to keep my business. I currently have (4) of these small hydroponic gardens, and will be buying more, and I don't mind saving money. I paid less than half the price for this garden (with extras) than I did for the (2) AeroGarden Bounty Basics that I recently purchased, and AeroGarden has since raised the price on their Bounty Basic by about $25 (on Amazon). Yes, the Bounty Basic has some added features, but that's a HUGE difference in price, too. Things happen. It's how they're handled that matters to me, and this company gets an A+ in customer service. Especially considering that they contacted me so quickly after my initial review went live. I'll post a final update after this matter is resolved. Original Review: The light on this garden works fine, and the pump moves some water. However, it has two serious flaws. 1.) The timer isn't accurate. It's supposed to turn on at the time at which it was started the first time, and off 16 hours later each day, but it has a mind of it's own. I've reset it, but there seems to be an error in the firmware, or timer chip. It can't accurately count. 2.) The grow deck is mounted such that the light telescoping mount runs through a hole in the plastic deck. Therefore, you can't just unplug the pump, remove the grow deck and bowl, and carry the bowl/tank to the sink to clean. There is a drain plug, but the bowl, pump, etc. must be cleaned, also. The bowl/tank also isn't a separate piece. Most of these AeroGarden knockoffs usually don't have a real-time clock. That's also a problem. If you want your light to turn on at 7am every morning, you must manually start it at 7am the first time. If there's a power interruption, you have to do it again. The manufacturer should look at an AeroGarden before they design and build another garden. The improvements mentioned here would cost almost nothing in materials, just in the tooling/manufacturing process, and then they'd have a garden that could compete with an AeroGarden. ... show more

  • WOW AMAZING COMPANY!
Style: 12 Sponges
UPDATE: So apparently my last update didn't save. The second unit this company sent me, was great for a month, and then the lights would no longer cycle on and off. After contacting the company, even AFTER a month has passed, they issued a full refund. Honestly, just based on their amazing customer service, I would purchase any upgraded unit they come up with in the future. My units had some issues, yes, but they were quick to respond and remedy the situation. I have nothing but nice things to say about this company. I got the Coliben Indoor Hydroponics growing system. After setting it up (SUPER EASY), I filled it with water and nutrients, and then added my seeds. Within 2 days, the pump was buzzing very loudly. I took out the pump and completely cleaned it out, per the directions. Sadly, that did not fix the issue. So, I reached out to the company, via Amazon, and by the next day they responded. They told me to clean the pump. I responded that we tried that. So, they apologized and said they would send out a new pump, as the one I received may be defective. All I can say, after receiving what they sent us, is THANK YOU. They went above and beyond to fix the issue, and very quickly as well. VERY reputable company and all my seeds have sprouted and are growing quickly. ... show more

  • Not as good as AeroGarden - but cheaper
Style: 12 Sponges
They are on the small side and cheaply made -- but they don't cost much. Don't compare at all to my old AeroGarden - which only has 7ports, but the light telescopes twice as far - and has clamps (I suspect this one's telescoping rods will get loose and wear out over time) The AeroGarden also has a mini computer that lets you pick a mode or custom set light/pump - and reminds you when to add fertilizer. This unit has two light settings that vary color - both are 16hr on 8hr off) The pump on this unit is either on or off ('on' = 30min on / 30min off) and it just agitates the water. The AeroGarden actually pumps water into the lid to weep holes at each pod (not sure this matters much, but it's a difference) - Water fill hole is at the back right corner difficult to get to with foliage or if you have it near a wall or side by side with another unit. The AeroGarden has the fill cap front right easy to access. - This unit has holes for plant support rods (the AeroGarden doesn't) A handful are provided. I had a bag of bamboo skewers that also work well (pointy side down). 1/4 inch dowel rods would work too - if you give one end a couple twists with some sand paper till you get a good fit. - 12 tightly spaced pods. Good for sprouting, but you'd probably want to use around half the pods for a long term herb or flower garden. Haven't had time to test longevity or keeping a garden in it. - It's okay for the price and makes a decent sprouter. Meh - 3 stars ... show more

  • Fun to watch!
Style: 12 Sponges
I am really enjoying checking every day to see how my plants are growing! I’ve had to adjust the height of the light twice in the past approximately three weeks to accommodate the plants. Not sure how vegetables are going to produce, especially with no pollination, but fun to see what happens.

  • Solid product
Style: 12 Sponges
The media could not be loaded. Helps that the light extends taller than other competitors because lettuce, beans, tomatoes grow fast. Lacking fan
