I love this table! I wanted to replace my old table after buying all new furniture and rearranging things I decided my table wasn't going to work anymore. I wanted something smaller to fit this space better and something that could help get rid of some clutter. This table did both. It's more narrow and shorter in length than my old table so it fits better plus it has become my new junk drawer as you can see from the photos. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars for 'Easy to assemble' because they didn't give a good indication of witch way to face the brackets onto the table top therefore the last step became very confusing. I assumed I could use the pre-drilled holes in the compartment bottom (you can) but when I did the lid was off center when closed. After lots of doing things wrong and getting frustrated thinking the predrilled holes were wrong I realized I put the brackets on backwards. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars for 'Sturdiness' because even though it's not made from solid wood it does feel pretty strong due to the design. Also the design hides the hardware very well from the outside so it looks very nice. I gave it a 5 out of 5 stars for 'Value for money' because this table could've costed more and I would've still bought it and would still be happy with it. It was a steal in my opinion! I would recommend this table.

A very nice coffee table thus far, it is very sturdy and a little heavy. It took some time to assemble but mostly because my arm got tired twisting the screwdriver. A drill would make it easier for sure but I dont advise using one unless it set to its lowest most gentle setting. The wood may be sturdy but it's still partical board non the less. The instructions are a bit hard to follow with all the letters and lines going all over the place, but it becomes super easy to assemble once you notice the pattern of bolts and holes to match. My only complaint is the small screws used to attach the hinges are quiet small, and fragile. I snapped 2 screws piloting them into the wood, they give spares which is nice but once that screw is broke off into the wood there is no getting it out. They also only give tiny pilot holes for those screws. And only 2 of the 6 holes have the pilot. I broke these screws in half with a screwdriver, I do not recommend a drill for this portion at all.

Pros: Was very easy to put together and a very sturdy table matter of fact. I really love the lift top feature. It looks really modern and you can store stuff in the table too. Cons: the instruction manual was really bad, the parts were numbered inconsistently, and the spring for the lift top is a bit squeaky but works fine. Overall for the price point it’s a great table

Shopped around for coffee tables and most were underwhelming and on the expensive side. Found this and was skeptical because of the great price. Even with the slight hiccup of assembly, I still give it 5 stars. Took about an hour to assemble but that was because I installed the main bottom piece upside down and had to unassemble and reassemble. If you have a huge space just know that this is a tad smaller than expected but worked well with the size of our living room. Well worth the price.

I like the table overall, but the instructions are a bit to generic(I've put together a lot of Ikea furniture). The sides and bottom was straight forward, the moving top was not. No pre-drilled holes, just dimples that don't align with the top mechanism. The instructions does not show which way to orient the table top. The holes in the mechanism and the top and the base of the table are off so when I screwed the screws in the dimples and creating my own holes, the top is not aligned correctly. It is over hanging on one side and short on the other side. I took it apart and spun the top around, now the it's short on one side and long on the other. It's off by 3/8" short and long. Not to big of a deal. Now about the mechanism. The spring is really stiff and slams open or shut. Been about a month and the spring is a little softer. Still scares my wife and son to close it.

It’s quite easy to assemble once you observe the instructions for like an hour LOL It took me 4 hours to assemble. I took my time tho. It’s quite sturdy as well once everything is put together. Only thing I didn’t like is that the springs are loud when you lift and lower the top. It’ll wake someone up if they are sleeping lOl Something to consider. That’s all I got. Thank you for reading.

It is fashionable and is a great addition to our living room. I love the indoor hidden storage and open bottom for books or magazines. It is a nice table.

You get what you pay for - my roommate and I are currently college students, without a lot of money to spend on furniture that we'll only use for a year. This took a couple hours to assemble alone (but I needed help lifting all the heavy pieces at the end), and the instructions weren't great (no words, just pictures). But, I managed to get it done without too much fuss - they don't really explain how certain pieces should fit, which I think is where some negative reviews come from. But I managed to figure them out and looking back, I wasn't frustrated at the complexity of the build, just the tediousness and time that it took. Overall, the look of this table isn't too shabby. It's got a nice dark wood look, but it will pick up oil and fingerprints fairly easily, so be wary of that. It's not the most chic piece of furniture, but it has a decent amount of storage on the bottom and when you lift up the top. The table itself is nice and sturdy. I wouldn't recommend sitting on it obviously, but it holds up laptops, textbooks, big plates of food and many drinks, even with the table top lifted. The one thing that I wanted to mention was the way the table top lifts up and closes - there is nothing slowing or stopping the hinges from slamming the table top shut or whipping it open. It will make a loud sound if you just push the top and let it fall, instead of guiding it and adding a bit of resistance to gently let the top down. Is this tedious and annoying? Yes. But is it a dealbreaker? For us, no. You (and any other guests that use this) will learn quickly to use your hands to lift and close the top slowly. For a $100 coffee table that doubles as a dining table for 2 in our small apartment, this is great. It's functional. It has a little bit of a learning curve, but it's worth it. The dark wood makes it look more expensive than it is, and the lift top function is exactly what we needed with limited space.
