However the first time I used it (today) turned out to be for coffee. It didn't keep it *quite* as hot for 4 hours as the one I normally use, but it definitely exceeded my heat-retaining expectation. It didn't leak at all while drinking from it but I was very careful to keep I vertical during transportation (because the lid is not a screw-top though it does seem ti fit tightly and the sliding part of the lid was tight and secure. It is difficult to put on, difficult to take off, and can leak if you don't have it on correctly. There is no internal locking mechanism, so you're relying on pressure to keep it on.
