Purchased thiss kit after owning several of their kits for Arduino. The Raspberry Pi has much more power, and this kit looked like the perfect way to learn that platform. For the price, it comes with an incredible collection of parts, including a camera. While the Arduino kits come with a Arduino clone, this kit will require the purchase of a Raspberry Pi, which is fine, considering the price difference between the Arduino and the Pi. All the components come packed in a very small box, considering the large number of parts included. I was interested in Python programming, and this kit does not disappoint - it comes with tutorials for Python, C, Scratch, and Java. The online tutorials are wonderful, and cover a wide range of "things" to make, including some IOT projects. So far, I've just worked through the first few tutorials - they seem similar to the ones for their Arduino kits, with the plus that the creations run on the same machine that you create them on, where as the Arduino projects require a "host" system to write the code. I have not had a chance to work with the camera module, or any of the IOT projects - it's going to be a while before I get to that! For some of the more complex projects, I recommend getting a second breadboard - room to spread things out a bit. The one board it comes with is enough, I just like to spread things out. I would also suggest getting a bigger plastic storage box with compartments, and relocate the small components over to it - the plastic box it comes in is well packed - having a bigger box will make it easier to find smaller parts and less of a chance to lose things. The parts section is second to none, more than enough to keep you busy for several months or more. While the tutorials are great, they are really just the beginning of what you can do with this kit. It begs to be modified and combined with other components to make even bigger and better things. The Pi has plenty of power for it all. Only things I might add to the kit would be a mini OLED display, and possibly a real timeclock. Overall, a great addition to their wide range of kits. It's a great kit to learn about programming, electronics, Linux (Pi), and the Internet of Things.

This was a great kit to get reacquainted with electronics. I used with a RPi 4 and only had a few problems with setup because of the release of picamera2 library, but I got it sorted out. I had a couple minor issues with some of the python projects, but the big issue came up when I got to the IoT section and the 3rd party they were using, Cloud4RPi, was down. Weeks later it looks like the site is back up, but within a few DAYS the seller of this kit rewrote the tutorial to use a different IoT platform, Blynk. They were very helpful throughout the process and I'll be getting at least one more of these kits for a friend at Christmas. It's clear they stand behind this stuff, even when it was an issue that was out of their control.

Raphael Kit is excellent kit and it has lots of tutorials, wiring diagrams, and code. I had some questions with the power module and customer support was very helpful thoroughly explaining several things to me that I didn't know before due to my lack of knowledge on the Pi. I definitely recommend this Sunfounder kit and their customer support. I have use it extensively on my Pi 3B on both Buster and Bullseye.

One part was not functional. I had another one from a different kit, and didn't check on the sort of response I would have gotten if I had asked for a replacement. Otherwise, the kit has been good so far. The write ups have been a little clearer in some parts than that of another kit, but that kit had different strengths. It seems a good buy to me. While it is possible to go with the RaspberryPi.org site, the focus there is a different, more attuned to a school setting. If you want to tinker around at home, this kit is good and cheap for what you get. I feel the same way about a similar Freenove kit.

The media could not be loaded. I chose the Raspberry Pi Ultimate Starter Kit for several reasons, as it comes with a camera for my RasPi 4, and a speaker, a breadboard adaptor for an external power supply (3.3 & 5V out, 9-12VDC in, 9V connector included), and a multitude of sensors, jumper-wires, and even some essential IC's for experimenting and prototyping. I liked that the instruction set includes four different programming languages, including Scratch for GUI users and Java for IOT development and C# for a microcontroller environment. One of the better features I find is that several of the projects are repeated in Scratch, Python, and C# languages. This should be helpful for people interested in quick experimentation before moving their hardware prototypes forward.
