These outdoor drapes are just great. My original purchase, years ago, was the sea foam stripe and this purchase was the khaki stripe. I use them on my decks. They are impervious to sun, rain, bugs, etc. and add a softness and sense of privacy to the space. They really look pretty blowing in a breeze. Got these for my back screened porch to block our nosy neighbors and to keep my dogs from barking at them. They are more private than what some of the other reviewers stated if your face is 2 inches from the white stripes of fabric we can make out a shaded version of our side fence which is 7 or so feet from the porch but not beyond that and it isn’t clear. And you can only see that if you have your curtains stretched flat instead of the waves flow look that they are supposed to have. Our neighbors can’t see in when they are properly hanging. not only are they nosy but they don’t know how to whisper either since we heard them complaining that they can never tell when we’re out. The dogs rub against them constantly and they have been rained on for a 10 day stretch and have also healed up to the morning sun since that part of my porch faces east and gets the entire effect of sunrise til noon. The rain and moisture made them dirty so in the washer and dryer they went and they came out just as if we had taken them out of the package. My husband loves that I put these on the porch because he loves his privacy and these were cost friendly, good quality and tastefully designed for an outdoor space. ... show more

We hung these curtains on our screened porch in May. They look good, and they still look new. Are these as thick as Sunbrella curtains? No, but they don’t have the price tag either. They do blow around easily, and in storms they sometimes knocked stuff off of side tables. Inspired by another reviewer, I bought fairly heavy weather-proof chain at the hardware store to insert in the hems. The hardware store cut the chainin lengths equal to the width of the curtains. Here’s how I inserted it. I put in the chain with the curtains hanging. The hems are approximately 2 inches deep. Maybe a little more. Using a seam ripper I opened one end of each hem. I left a few stitches at the bottom and a few stitches at the top of the hems. Holding the hem so it is vertical, I held the opening open and fed in a few links. Once you get a few links inside gravity is your friend. The weight of the chain pulls it inside. I found it useful to drape the chain over my shoulder as I fed it in. Keep hold of the chain at the entry point. Smooth the hem with your hand. Control the drape as you lower the hem, and adjust so it is hanging to your liking. Once in place, you can fiddle with the opening you made and encourage the double fold back into place. Creases and the few stitches still in place top and bottom help. I didn’t see the opening closed again. It doesn’t seem to be necessary. ... show more

I live in a 1st floor apartment. I have a small 4' x 10' patio. My patio faces west, which is pretty sunny and hot in the evening. These dim the bright, direct light from heating up my living room, while still allowing light to shine through. But what I really like is the privacy from prying eyes walking by in the parking lot. People are nosy LOL. I did have to put fishing weights into the bottoms of these because they are light and blow around like crazy in the Oklahoma wind. I bought 4 curtains and thought maybe I only needed 3. Nope. The 4 look stunning. I love walking up to the building and seeing it from the outside. I have had a ton of compliments. My 'cabana'. I feel like I have an extra 'room' instead of patio. It's hot out there in the summer. But will be really nice in the fall and winter. I highly recommend. Just get some kind of weights for the bottom hem if you are in any breezy area. The curtain rods for the size of my patio are expensive, but I happened upon a 88-128" rod at Ross for $15. My electric bill in June 2018 was $120. This year it was $88 for same time period due to these drapes. Makes a big difference. ... show more

These were the thing that finally pulled our new patio together. I initially wanted them because even with a 14' deep patio, when the sun is low in the sky it was uncomfortably shining in our eyes. I was surprised to find they also somewhat insulate the patio when we pull them all closed and turn on the fire table. It's a noticeable difference in temperature, just enough to take off the worst of the chill. Keep in mind this is a California chill, they would do nothing against a real winter. We get so many compliments on these, they really are the perfect finishing touch that makes our patio feel like a destination resort. On top of being affordable and functional they just lend a really nice ambiance to the area. During the day they sway in the breeze and just filter the light if you close them. During the night when they're closed they make the outdoors feel cozy. They're the perfect weight, opaque without being heavy. There's a channel in the bottom to where you could run a chain if you wanted to weigh them down. We don't get much wind and I like when they fly around so I left them. ... show more
