I live in NYC on a very busy street and I'm on the first floor. I don't know why I didn't buy this earlier. It's exactly what I needed. Now the buildings across the street from me, can't see right into my apartment. During the day it gives a mirror like reflection. At night it gives alot more privacy. You can see through it but you can't make everything out which is what I wanted. I close my curtains at night to retain the heat and this film also doubles as insulation for my windows which really become drafty in winter. This film is a breeze to put up with static cling and spraying water and it comes with a squeegee tool to remove excess water and air bubbles. ... show more

Putting aside that the cling is frustrating to install, it falsely claims to be UV protectant but does not stand the test of UV mirror. When you take a UV mirror to a surface with UV protection (Sun screened skin, sunglasses etc) depending on if you're using chemical sun protection vs mineral, the reflection in the mirror should show complete black out or white out (respectively) of the protected surface. As evidenced by my image of the UV mirror reflection, you can see through the window with no blacked out areas. You obviously expect to see through the window with the naked eye but in the UV mirror reflection, there should be little to no sunlight penetrating through the window. ... show more

Love the results but this is not easy to install. I kept having to lift and stick over and over chain. It certainly does help reduce the heat in the house but do not attempt to install alone
