Features

  • JAPANESE STYLE PULL SAW: This flush cut saw is a Pull Saw. Most people are used to European saws, called push saws, which cuts through a pushing motion. On the other hand, Japanese hand saws cut materials via pulling and are called pull saws. In comparison to push saws, this Japanese product is lighter in weight, requires less power, and results in a cleaner edge.
  • JAPANESE STEEL: All SUIZAN Japanese saws consist of top quality Japanese steel. The high-quality steel makes razor sharp cuts.
  • MADE IN JAPAN: All SUIZAN woodworking tools are manufactured in Japan by Japanese master craftsmen. The whole process of making these tools are completed in one of Japans towns known for its craft-making tradition with a history of over 100 years.
  • BLADE FOR HARDWOOD AND SOFTWOOD: With this small hand saw, you can easily cut oak, sandalwood, ebony, mahogany, maple, walnut and pine with a robust blade for hardwood. The blade for softwood can be used for white cedar, Japanese cedar, larch, paulownia wood and many others. Not replaceable blade.
  • DIVERSIFY YOUR WOODWORKING LIFE: No matter if you are a master or a beginner, using traditional Japanese-style saws gives you a brand new experience and lets you make a wider range of woodworking products, thus changing your life!

  • Excellent small pull-cut saw!
Size: 5 Inch (120mm) Style: 5 Inch (120mm) Body
Very sharp, thin, and flexible blade. Great for flush cutting dowel ends, etc. Comfortable to use and good quality, sturdy construction. After seeing how fast and smooth this cuts, and how well it's made, I ordered one of the larger versions for making bigger cuts. Very impressive compared to the western push cut saws I'm used to using! ... show more

  • The best saw ever! Get the one made in Japan!
Size: 5 Inch (120mm) Style: 5 Inch (120mm) Body
I'm in my 60's. I have small hands that aren't very strong. They've never been strong. Jar openers are my hands' friends. Using larger saws often results in me screwing up the cut as the saw tries to bounce all over the place. I decided to purchase a Japanese-made pull saw (avoiding the Chinese-made cheaper varieties). The blade is so thin it bends with ease and looking at it without trying it, you'd think it's not going to be able to do much. So far I've cut and shaped PVC trim to fit perfectly and thicker aluminum trim for the bathroom shower door frame WITH EASE AND ACCURACY! To cut the shower frame aluminum U accurately, I simply used 2 bands of painter's tape around it with a thin line between. The saw stayed on point and my cut looked as clean as the factory cut! This saw is SHARP! It's easy to use (only pull toward you, never push). It is SO comfortable in my hands and my arms aren't getting tired when doing cuts. It seems very versatile as far as what you can cut with it. I'm SUPER impressed. This is going to make small repair jobs around the house much easier and quicker. Wish I'd bought it 20 years ago! Japan, you rock! ... show more

  • Great blade to have
Size: 5 Inch (120mm) Style: 5 Inch (120mm) Body
Super nice sharp and useful. Bought for a project, worked great, using it again now and it worked awesome. Wanted to post how it's still sharp and great tool after multiple projects.

  • Cuts fast and clean
Size: 5 Inch (120mm) Style: 5 Inch (120mm) Body
Very sharp. Cuts fast and clean. But, it is very, very, very thin. You have to be careful with it so it doesn’t bend or break.

  • I should of purchased this years ago!!!
Size: 5 Inch (120mm) Style: 5 Inch (120mm) Body
This saw works like a dream. easy to use, cutting plugs off was so easy. The project we used it on had 34 plugs, in the past it would of taken ten times the time we did the job in. FANTASTIC TOOL!!!!

  • 6" works well cutting a 2x1 piece of wood
Size: 6"/150mm Style: 6"/150mm Hand Saw
I needed this tool to cut 2x1 pieces of wood. There is a different blade on each side. The top side is for soft wood. I haven't used that yet. I only used the bottom side. It works so well. I'm very happy with this purchase. The handle grip fits well in the hand. It cuts so beautifully and does not leave splinters. It is very sharp and even though it seems thin, it doesn't warp and make uneven cuts when trying to saw the wood through. All my other tools are worn down and takes forever to cut. I'm so glad I got this because it cuts my time in half! The price Is reasonable for something made in Japan. The way you use this is to pull towards you when sawing. That is the dominant motion, then back and forth. Because of the pull method, it works better than the push type of saws. It gives more control and accuracy as a pull method. You should definitely try this type of saw. I know they sell different lengths. For me, 6" is the right size for me. 6" is only the blade part, not including the handle length. ... show more

  • Thin. NOT for heavy duty handling
Size: 5 Inch (120mm) Style: 5 Inch (120mm) Body
you know, like your typical American-made hand saw. If you manhandle this, it will bend. It is, however, very forgiving on the learning curve. I’d wanted one of these for a LONG time, I thought, and for the price, needing something to make flush cuts in wooden plugs - and a LOT of trim/molding I found out later - I thought I’d buy one. First off, this is SHARP! First day, right out of the package, I somehow managed to cut my palm on the blade and I didn’t even feel it, just noticed red on my hand. Give this a LOT of respect. The cut on PULL design took about five seconds to get used to. It’s counterintuitive to how western saws work but once you use it, you’ll wonder why ALL saws aren’t made this way. Push-pull, different philosophies, same net result - this just seems easier. What I find this most useful for is making very fine, very thin cuts in wood trim and molding where the use of a handsaw would be awkward, or a chopsaw not giving me the fine control I need for smaller cuts or on smaller pieces of wood. This is very comfortable in the hand and makes very accurate cuts - the kerf is so fine I have to get higher power reading glasses to make sure I’m cutting ON or next to a 0.5mm mechanical pencil line - not that a cut that thin would make that much difference in fitting on the kind of stuff I work on, but I like to know where I’m cutting. This is small enough, light enough, to fit in your tool bag and get lost in there. One tip, and I don’t know for sure if this is stainless or not, but I folded a piece of paper in the plastic tube it came packaged in then soaked it with an anti-rust product. Cheap insurance and less chance of the teeth getting dinged/dented/dulled. One of my favorite tools now. Collect the set, save ‘em, trade ‘em! ... show more

  • Fits a Zona mitre saw box; cuts hard and soft wood
Size: 5 Inch (120mm) Style: 5 Inch (120mm) Body
I needed a flush cut saw that would fit in the slots of a Zona mitre saw box; similar blade width to the Zona razor saw. This is that saw. It has a "hardwood" edge and a "softwood" edge, and I have used it to make precise cuts in both maple and pine. Very good value for the money.
