  • Suits: Things Really Heat Up in Season 3
The merger between Pearson and Darby International is now complete and Harvey, stinging from Jessica's refusal to make him a name partner, begins plotting with Darby to take her down. After Harvey manages to settle a case with his old mentor, Cameron Dennis, Harvey's client, Ava Hessington, is arrested for murder. Darby sends his "fixer," Stephen Huntley, to help with the case. After first accepting Huntley after renegotiating Ava as a client, Harvey realizes Darby wants Huntley to help him completely take the firm from Jessica. Harvey informs Jessica, who says that if he wins the case, she will add him as name partner. Ava looks set to be convicted until Mike discovers Huntley was actually responsible for the murders, something of which Darby had no previous knowledge. Darby eventually agrees to testify against Huntley, only later realizing his own plea bargain will leave him unable to practice law in the United States. This allows Jessica to begin dissolution of the firm, and she allows Louis to lead on the dissolution talks, which leads to complications. Darby appoints Scottie to negotiate in the dissolution case, promising her a named partnership if she wins. After Harvey wins the trial, Ava sues the firm for malpractice and appoints Travis Tanner as her attorney. Harvey is soon able to get Ava to withdraw the suit. Jessica learns of Mike and Rachel's relationship and threatens to fire Mike unless Rachel signs an affidavit saying she knew of Mike's fraud. She does so on the condition that Jessica waive the firm's "Harvard rule," so she can apply to work there as a lawyer upon graduation from Columbia. Mike's secret is nearly discovered by Louis, but he is eventually convinced that Mike only "fixed" a grade in a single class. After Louis almost finds out about Mike's deception, Mike realizes he will never be able to make a name for himself in law with the threat of his fraud being discovered, and considers a career change after being offered a job as an investment banker by Jonathan Sidwell. In the ending, Mike and Harold Gunderson are arrested for supposedly bribing witnesses in the Ava Hessington trial, which threatens exposure for him. After Louis and Harvey manage to release them both, Mike realizes the problems that his situation causes for the firm and takes the job offered by Sidwell. This new job makes Mike a client of the firm, which now makes Harvey, technically, work for Mike. ... show more

  • Mature THINKING Audiences Only
Wow. I have started MANY series in the past several years after returning from a long (20 year) hiatus from the US. I have been so disappointed. Many of the series are based on a flawed premise (i.e. zombies in the Walking Dead). Some series ask that you suspend reality in the plot by expecting you to believe a series of events that are less plausible than the Easter Bunny. Still other series sell you on violence and nudity (Sons of Anarchy). To find a series that has intrigue, a plausible environment (boy genuis), and nothing more controversial than a 7 second tush shot of an older adult (Season 3) is refreshing. Characters whom are likable do dastardly deeds for which you despise, albeit temporarily, them. Characters portrayed as villains do magnanimous things for which they are admired (again temporarily). There is the right amount of humor. There are strong female and male characters. Power, both real and imagined, shifts with each episode. there are few "to be continued" episodes leaving me satisfied with each episode (remember Masterpiece Theater?). Many of the traits that make me like the NCIS tri-ad/athalons are present in Suits. Will you like it? If you are a 20/30-something that has to be titillated, probably not. But if you are a thinking viewer that prefers a mental challenge over a carnal stimulation, I believe that answer is yes. ... show more

  • Catching show
Alluring plot as the story follows the main character an incredibly smart young and troubled middle aged guy living in New York tried to progress himself towards the life he always thought he’d have. With his photographic memory he was able to finesse his way into one of the leading law firms in NYC. Now he must prove himself while hiding his secret, he’s not actually a Harvard graduate. Nor a graduate of any law school but he has the smarts and memory/attention to detail to be a top lawyer. ... show more

  • My Favorite Series
Gina Torres - classiest woman alive Gabriel Macht - how could such a gentle, modest, laid back man play such a successful hardline 'winner' of a lawyer? Talented, great acting, great interaction with characters.... I'm so vested in his career and personal life on the show. Mike - what can I say? That I live for the intro where they show his torso when he wakes up? That I think his love for Rachel, ethics, values, love for people in general - wow. Rachel - get him now, put a ring on it ;)))) Rachel - OMG do you pull that role off, complete with the complex emotions and events, hopes and dreams, relationship with your father... I can't imagine that anyone could pull all of that off and be so beautifula and talented at the same time. Donna. Donna is... Donna. Beautiful, spot on with the character. The kind of 'assistant' that everyone wants to be and everyone else wants have. I aspire to be you, but with considerable less hair ;) Oh well. Louis - I've come to respect you so deeply after seeing you in the series, and then seeing you in a whodunit series. Complete opposites. Was worried you might be type-cast, but you're repertoire/scope of acting is so broad and just spot-on. DON'T EVER STOP THIS SERIES - I want to die with the remote in my hand, face towards the tv, full of all the latest relationship news and folks statuses. KEEP IT COMING!!!! ... show more
