  • Enduring Tools
I am binge watching 'Home Improvement' from season one onward, and I am happy to say that after five seasons, the show has not lost its salt, as it were. All the usual tropes such as Tim's ragging on Al, Wilson's over the fence wisdom, and Tim's bad experiences with 'More Power' tools. One thing which keeps the show lively is that the three boys are growing up, so old themes don't work with them now. Brad and Randy are beginning to be involved with girls, but their underlying personalities are about the same. One relief is that Tim's grunting has fallen off. That got old by the second season, and has diminished over the last three. Adding the Hardware Store as a center of activity is welcome, as now there are three centers of action, not just Tool Time and the Taylor household. ... show more

  • Nostalgia
I am a nostalgic girl. I remember growing up, eating supper and this was on the TV. Nostalgia gives me cozy vibes and that’s exactly what home improvement has done for me. I purchased this season because (in my opinion the later season are better) I like to have it on the tv in the evenings. All the kids can watch, and the stories are well written. The jokes are well delivered. I love a good family show! ... show more

  • Great Series!
If you enjoy this series I recommend buying and reading his books, much of the comedy of the show you will see was developed on his books and stand-up. Great show! This is an instant classic that is great to collect the whole series and watch numerous times over and over! The cast each has their own personalities and quirks that make them all independently interesting. Tim Allen's stardom was created of this show and continues to crack me up every time I watch it. ... show more

  • A sitcom built to last...
My family have the first six seasons and enjoy them thoroughly. It has slapstick humor for dad, soft and tender moments for mom, and kids antics for my children. What I like about this program is that the writing is sincere where you can relate to the characters. There is not one episode where my side does not hurt from laughter even after watching them over and over. Each episode runs about 22 minutes in length. And each one leaves you to wonder how does this guy still have a tool show? It must be Al. What I like about this season is the addition of Tim's brother's family in some of the episodes. The local hardware store also becomes a local hangout for the guys and Benny. Good family entertainment. ... show more

  • Best Season So Far
Thank you Amazon for bringing back a childhood favorite. We are enjoying reliving life with the Taylors one season at a time. In Season 5, the Taylor boys are becoming young men and finally begin to have relate-able and interesting story lines. We are also seeing much more of Al and his personal life in this season. This season by far has been our favorite. We recommend starting from the beginning with Season 1, but we are thoroughly enjoying this season the most. ... show more

  • Tool Time!
Home Improvement is a great show and this DVD does not disappoint. The quality was surprisingly great. Much better than I expected of a show from the 90's. I never noticed any issue with the audio either. These DVD's don't have much going for them in bonus material, but the show was enough for me!

  • Another Season of Light, Family Comedy from the Taylor Clan
Season five of Home Improvement was/is another great season of this hillarious sitcom. This series never seems to get old. There are so many episodes on this season that I deem "classics." Watch as the phrase "brothers shouldn't work together" gets a special meaning, Tim stands up for Al, that look that women have is made clear, and Tim and Jill race tanks. There are many hillarious moments in the life of Tim and Jill in this season including Jill asking Tim to get a vasectomy, Tim thinks Jill is cheating on him, and the couple attempt to spend some time alone during a weekend retreat in Chicago. If you think that is funny, wait to see what is in store for the Taylor lads. Brad gets a haircut, but it's not normal, Randy goes to high school for two subjects, and Mark learns to fly an airplane! Watch as Al creates a Tool Time board game, and proposes to Eileen. Tool Time gets a new boss, and he wants to fire Al! There are so many moments in Season 5 that are unforgetable, so sit back and watch them, and then watch them again. This season never gets old. The only downfall of this DVD set is that the bonus features only inlude another set of bloopers. It would have been nice to see some making of featurettes. So in conclusion, I invite you to buy this DVD set and see for yourself how enjoyable this Season of Home Improvement is. There are not many television series anymore that are as light and funny and downright entertaining as Home Improvement. ... show more
