I got a used Doona, but it was missing shoulder straps for our newborn. We don't want to hurt his neck when tightening an exposed strap, and the fact that this shade covers a bit more, it was an easy sell. Unfortunately the strap covers are MASSIVE and don't work well for the use case. The cover doesn't fit over the belt in the space needed before the chest harness. BUT the extra panel for the shade is a game changer. We live in AZ and even with tinted windows, the sun is so bright. This helps ensure he's not getting sun in the eyes, and will also help when we travel on safari and protect his skin in the heat.

This snaps onto my Doona easily and is good quality just like the original. I love that it is an extended canopy and it blocks more sunlight than the original. That is one of the problems I always had with the Doona, and this helps with that. It is sturdy and good quality.
