The shape is not conducive to wearing the bag on your shoulder, as the phrase “shoulder strap” brings to mind. I had planned to carry it as a shopping tote. However, the shape of the bottom of the bag is a 6” circle making the bag protrude as if you are carrying a soccer ball. The bottom of the bag hits at hip level. To provide structure and organization, I used a felt insert that is 6” across. Although it fit, I realized that the. Bag is not 6” across, it is 6” in diameter! It’s a round bottom bag. Also, although the woven bag is a beautiful navy, the blue in the strap design does not match. I am returning it.

Bag looks pretty, but it's not very strong or sturdy. Unfortunately the inside liner is so thin and not sewn into bag very well that it had been ripping away. The handles/straps are also kinda thin and not very comfortable when wearing upon shoulder. The size is nice and perfect for holding a few things like a beach towel, sunblock, and a cold drink. But it surely wouldn't be able to withstand much weight. The dark blue color is lovely, but I noticed that the color runs if bag gets wet! I know have a bit of stain in my backseat. So it may not be the best of the best, but it does still work for a bit of a day trip to the beach.
