This is the 2nd Protec sax case have purchased. I am again pleased. The case fits my Yamaha YSS 82Z perfectly. The straps are well made. The zipper is a better safety feature than brands like Crossrock which used latches which can open if bumped or snagged while carrying. The Protect soprano case is not as "sexy" looking as other cases, but I prefer the fit for my Yamaha. In terms of being a slightly softer material, this is not an issue for me. My soprano is handled solely by me, I would never check it at the airport - so the case works fabulous even though not a hard shell case. I highly recommend. I have a Yanagisawa S6, and this case holds it perfectly. A lot of the other people on here who bought it for their soprano don't seem to like it, but I think they're just lazy. The thing is that it's customizable, so as to fit a large variety of saxes, whether they be straight or curved neck, removable neck or one piece, traditional palm keys or Mark VI style, or what have you. It just takes a little experimentation to get the little foam pieces to fit your instrument right, but once you do it works great. Very sturdy, very light-weight, with a handle that is comfortable to hold for long periods of time, way more storage space than you will ever need, and a shoulder strap. This thing has it all. This case is perfect for my newest purchase (Roland AE20.) I've used Protec cases for years for my trumpets and have always loved the quality, durability and value. When I purchased my AE20, Roland was kind enough to include a gig bag, but it's not meant to protect much beyond moisture. If you're going to play a gig, you need something sturdy and this fits the bill! The pads on the inside are moveable (on velcro) and you can customize the placement perfectly. I don't know if this would fit the AE30 since that instrument is a bit longer, but this is perfect for the AE20! Buy this case if you have an AE20! ... show more

Protec is well know for the manufacture of instrument cases. Their cases are a great value for the monies expended. The cases are light, but well constructed, and support instruments very well. The soprano case is exceptional in that it has adjustable sections that can be adjusted for soprano saxes of different manufacturers.     • Fits EWI5000 with a little tweak

My first impression: A little heavier than I expected. The quality is very good. Built tough to military standard. It is not a soft case as I expected but it has a hard shell inside. It is more like a suitcase. You have to open the zip and open the case like a suitcase. It even has rubberized soles on the bottom and sides. Includes a strong padded shoulder strap. Having said that, this is not a custom tailored case for EWI5000. I expected the accessory box would hold the wireless receiver of the EWI5000 but is a tad bit small. But you can store the EWI neck strap, USB cable, the USB charger and some extra cables. I expected the EWI5000 to fit like the saxophone as shown in the picture but the EWI mouthpiece is not removable. So the EWI mouthpiece (along with the EWI mouthpiece cover) sits on top of the accessory box . The EWI is not snug fit. Here is where you need to tweak. Place the two small pads on both sides of the EWI mouthpiece and the EWI is secure enough. The EWI wireless unit sits at the bottom of the case snug between the velcro-based-pad and the center hub. Why 4 stars? - Not custom made for EWI5000. - Not 100% snug fit but comes close. - A bit pricey at $99 for a case. Final words: A very nice case for EWI5000 once you set it right. Yep, like everybody else says: great case for an EWI4000s. There's a hard compartment sized about right for a power adapter; the long outer pocket is a good size for a patch cable, neckstrap, MIDI interface, and the instruction manual; and there are two smaller interior zip pockets I'm using for a 1/8" plug adapter and some spare batteries. The local woodwind tech who repairs my clarinets warned me (before I told him I was using it for an EWI) that he has seen saxes damaged by rolling around free in this model of case, and I believe it. There's a lot of adjustment you can do by moving around the be-velcro'd foam blocks in the case, but I don't know if you could get the blocks into a position that'd hold a soprano sax snugly. So they should probably just call this an EWI case and be done with it. ... show more

It does fit The Roland AE 20 . Much more protection than the stock case. And you have the option of getting the backpack strap attachment. Should fit the Roland AE series . I use the mouthpiece compartment for backup battery storage. Luggage tag is also helpful. A great upgrade.
