If you're still drying cups and dishes on a soggy cloth mat you MUST add this to cart immediately! The stone drying mat looks great on your counter, dries quickly so you're not left with that soggy cloth, doesn't transfer onto your counter, and most important, doesn't leave your dishes/cups smelling musty because there's still air flow. Pretty enough to use as a serving tray since it will withstand heat, and large enough to handle delicate handwash-only pieces without taking over your entire counter. If you get any stains on the stone, you can sand them out, but I haven't really had that issue. Be cautioned that it is a stone, so if you drop it or drop something heavy onto it, it will crack. You also need to exercise caution with very delicate dishes since the stone is hard and could damage your dish if you're not careful. The benefits of using a stone drying mat however far outweigh the slight "inconvenience" of having to be careful. Highly recommend as a hostess gift, too!

This looks so much better than most of the drying mats out there! It's classy and easy to pull out/put away as needed, but because it's subtle, I just leave ours out. It hasn't had any of the funny smells it said to expect, and we haven't had to do any heavy duty cleaning on it. To be honest, one of the features asked about is heat resistance, and I haven't tested that either. But as an absorption mat, it's been great.

This stone dish-drying mat is wonderful! I was so sick of the plastic or cloth mats that were always wet. I use the mat under a small stainless dish basket the same size as the mat, but you can use it without a basket as well. I got the mat in the same color as my counter, so they blend together well. The mat soaks up water quickly and completely—no wet plastic or cloth mats. Just rinse the stone well and let it dry before using. I really love this mat mat, try it!

This serves it's purpose, but you can barely see the marble design. In the picture I bot the right side wet to see if that helped, it looks darker in thepick than in reality. You can also see the rough surface in the picture. I have a different one of these and it has a smooth surface that looks much nicer. However, on the bright side, the surface texture doesn't seem to affect it's water absorbtion or the amount of time it takes to dry.

I like that this mat won't mold because it dries so fast.Instead of using it to dry dishes, I am using this to protect my furniture from any sweat or leakage from my plants. This way if I accidentally overwater a plant, I won't harm my wood furniture - no water rings and in the humidity of Florida no mold which is a problem for people like me who love fresh air and have doors and windows open when the temperature allows. This is thin so I need to be careful of the rings the planters could leave on it because I don't want to keep sanding it too often in the same spots as I could wear it down. The price for this is definitely worth spending to not have to refinish furniture. This is a bit more work to clean if dirt gets on it compared to the mirror I used to use but not everyone has a cat that likes to knock plants over or climb in them and then leave dirty paw prints on the surface they're sitting on.

Stone Dish Drying Mat for Kitchen Counter, 16x12 inch Food Grade Diatomaceous I currently use a rubber/silicone mat for drying dishes. But it gets water rings easily, so it never looks nice. So I thought I'd try this stone mat. It really is stone - like a kind of rock. But it absorbs liquids, and dries quickly - like the ad says. Now TBH, it doesn't absorb liquid like a paper towel. If you dump a full glass of water on it, some will run over the sides. But for a smaller amount of liquid (like under drying dishes, under our cat bowl, or under my coffee pot) it absorbs the liquid fully. And then it dries pretty quickly. I've only been using it a week, but I really like it. And it's heavy/sturdy - so won't break unless I drop it, and maybe not even then. : ) I also like that it can withstand high temps - so I can rest things straight from the oven on it. It comes with silicone pads to protect my counter and raise it up a bit off. I like it.

The mat is absorbent and doesn’t get water logged like a dish towel - the only draw back is it’s white and stains do show up easy but they do provide sandpaper in the package to help erase stains. Overall a great product!
