I'm a huge fan of the neck pick up with high action, low end at 10 and mid range at 5, high end at 0 and plucking it like an upright through an ampeg or hartke. But every setting on this bass is fun. My favorite thing is how much your fingers impact the tone. I can't use my middle finger, because the size is too different from my other fingers. My ring and pointer are close enough, so I use those. I know this was built for low action slapping and hammering, but you can do anything with this bass. If you are just slapping, go with the classic single H, but if you want a good reason to sell every other bass you own, get this one. I can't imagine getting the 18 volt bass, since the hotness on this active eq feels just right at every setting. Every setting sounds good if you adapt your technique a little. If you like a passive tone, obviously don't get this. ... show more

    • The Bass came poorly packaged
Not only did the price drop immediately after purchasing but the tone knob made noise and so tmdid the pick up switch... also the Bass came poorly packaged and the box was torn up so I couldn't use it to return... might be the cause of the internal damage issue. Thought about having my guitar tech guy fix it but when I saw the price drop I knew something was up.. returned! ... show more
