My 4 year old loved the rainbow on the umbrella and was super excited when she got it. She was just playing around inside the house. Just turned it around enjoying the beauty of her new umbrella. But first day before she went to bed one of the threads which holds the umbrella fabric to one of the corner metals broke off and we had to use a new thread to tie it back through the hole to hold the umbrella the way it was. Bottom line is that, it’s not Sturdy. When you make umbrella for kids you need to ensure the design should be such that sturdiness/durability is given top priorities. this umbrella is adorable. keep in mind that It is child size so anything over 9 I would consider buying an alternate umbrella since It may be too small. my little is 6 and It covers her completely. I bought this for my pony loving 2 year old, and it’s the perfect size for her. Her 6 year old sister can use it in a pinch, but it doesn’t shield her AND her backpack from the rain. We’ve been through a few windy walks to school and it hasn’t flipped inside out yet. The plastic on top is stuck on a bit askance and the metal part of the handle is kind of flimsy. It’s a super adorable umbrella, worth the long wait for it to finally come. It’s better quality than a lot of toddler umbrellas but def don’t expect it to be toddler proof: if your little person plays with it like a normal Toddler does, it’s bound to have a few issues. Ours got a small hole and one of the ends keeps popping out. It’s not the cheapest quality by any means but buy it knowing that it may not last for years to come in the hands of a toddler. My 6-year old loves this umbrella and has used it every rainy day and taken it to school every possible day that she could. I'm not sure what kind of abuse she places on this umbrella while she's out of my sight, but so far it has survived 5 months of use and still opens and closes like it should.
