We first purchased the Little Tikes Easy Store Jr. Picnic Table with Umbrella as a first table for our little grandchildren and loved it. It was time to get a larger one as another grandchild came along and other kiddos come over to play here so we bought this one. Both tables are excellent. The first one mentioned has a seat height of 9" which is great for 1-3 year olds (and some smaller 4's) and this one not only allows more children seated, but the seat height is about 12" so they can grow with it. The table is adorable, and very sturdy. It does not fold flat but can easily be brought inside through a regular door. I love the style and sturdiness of this one. It's easy for one person to move around as it is not heavy, but it is heavy enough to stay put in high winds. The umbrella has a locking unit under the table if you want to use it so it won't pull out. Either table is a great choice. The Little Tikes one I mentioned is a great "first" and this one is a great "grow up with" -- Great tables! Easy to assemble, ... show more

My 2-year-old grandson loves his new picnic table. This Step2 picnic table took only 10 minutes to assemble & he absolutely loves it. What surprised me the most is that his favorite thing about it is the umbrella, as he is constantly pointing at it. He loves to sit at his picnic table to enjoy outdoor snacks or play with his toys. I am a 62-year-old grandmother, buying this for my grandchildren. I would say that the assembly was a bit intimidating only because there were no pre-drilled holds, and no written instructions in English, just pictures. The first logical thing I did was panicked and texted my son, "Help! no pre-drilled holes!" I knew he was at work and would not respond for a couple hours, so since I am impatient, I dove into the assembly anyway. It wasn't as hard as I had anticipated, and the first 4 screws were put in with just a screwdriver and elbow grease, even though I had to create holes through the plastic. Just when I was growing weary of that process, my husband got home and got his drill out. I continued the process because I like to finish what I start. I did not use the drill to make holes, but rather, to just drill in the screws. I think it turned out nicely, and I know the grandbabies are going to love it. Some said the assembly process was about 40 minutes. If I had used the drill the whole time, that sounds accurate. Oh...I did somehow have one leftover part. It appears to have something to do with the umbrella, but the umbrella is fine without it. ... show more

This table works very nicely for our two grandsons - almost 4 and 20-months old. Currently, we’re using it inside so we haven’t used it with the umbrella but it is sturdy and they love it. The umbrella seems very sturdy. I love colors so personally I wish it came in brighter colors but it looks good. It did take my husband and son to put it together. We put felt tabs on the bottom of the whole table as we prefer them to slide better on the tile. Four stars because one thing that I wish it had was a smooth top table for writing & coloring on. It has a wood-look unsmooth feel to it so when writing or coloring they have to have a smooth pad to put under the paper. We recommend it. ... show more
