  • This kit is way cooler than expected
Rather than simply putting the blocks together you actually build the gearboxes and parts to the robot that are normally sealed up tight. For a kid who loves playing with gears and the like this is a great kit.

  • Engaging and Educational – A Must-Have STEM Kit for Young Innovators!
I recently purchased the Kyanio STEM Robot Toys for my kids, and it has been an exceptional addition to their educational play. Here’s why I’m giving it a five-star review: Pros: Versatile 3-in-1 Kit: The 3-in-1 design allows kids to build three different robots, which keeps the experience fresh and engaging. The ability to switch between a robot car, robot tank, and robot humanoid provides a lot of variety and keeps children interested. Remote Control & Programming: The combination of remote control and programmable features is fantastic. It introduces kids to basic robotics and programming concepts in a fun and interactive way. They can learn about electric circuits while having hands-on experience. Educational Value: This kit is a great educational tool. It helps kids develop problem-solving skills, enhance their understanding of engineering concepts, and improve their fine motor skills. It’s perfect for promoting STEM learning in an entertaining manner. High-Quality Build: The parts are durable and fit together well, ensuring that the robots are sturdy once assembled. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, making assembly straightforward and enjoyable. Ideal Gift: This robotics kit is an excellent gift choice for boys and girls aged 8-13. It’s not only fun but also educational, making it a perfect present for birthdays or holidays. Cons: None Significant: I haven’t encountered any significant issues with this kit. It performs as advertised and provides a great balance of fun and learning. Overall: The Kyanio STEM Robot Toys are an outstanding choice for kids interested in robotics and programming. The 3-in-1 functionality, remote control, and educational value make it a standout product. If you’re looking for a gift that combines entertainment with learning, this robotics building kit is a fantastic option. Highly recommended for young innovators and future engineers! ... show more

  • Was Ted to get the kiddos into something more robot-like
Wanted to get the kiddos into something that was a bit more than just smartphones, video games, and YouTube. Perhaps trying to build things, or like this one….wire up a robot. Just trying to spark some interest in something else that is simple easy to put together and they could also control and play with. It worked; and it was challenging enough to build so that it could keep their focus! It’s a smaller machine about the size of one of the buddy plushies from BuildaBear; but it was so much fun putting it all together and watching it come to “life.” May have to get another one! ... show more

  • Neat project
This was a neat project, but I would not do this with a younger child because of the attention needed for the MANY small parts for assembly. This kit provided all the needed parts for assembly, but ultimately my nephew lost interest very quickly with assembly - leaving the job to me. Assembling the modular pieces went quickly enough, taking me about two hours, and contained all the pieces needed. Some assembly was needed that honestly could have been done at the manufacturer because it added little to no educational value. For example, the very small controller came in 7 pieces and two screws. The circuit board was fully made and our job was to put the board in, align battery terminals, clamp it down, add plastic buttons, and secure. While interesting, the biggest discussion point was aligning the battery terminals, which demonstrated the need for being observant. There were other parts that could have come pre-assembled because they didn't really add value. The instruction book, which is substantial, was presented in several languages. Instructions were clear and it is incumbent on the people assembling to make sure you are using the correctly identified parts. Each of the parts is labeled while in their plastic casing. Do not remove all the pieces, only remove them as they become needed. Once assembled, the unit is meant to allow for several configurations so the robot can perform different functions. The ability to reconfigure was limited due to the strength of the plastic clips holding each together. Reconfiguration was possible, it just did not hold together well as the pieces had different tensile strength. Reconfiguring in general requires revisiting the manual to determine which parts/pieces are needed for which configuration. However, it was interesting to see my nephew attempt different configurations without the use of the manual, there is an opportunity to build skills in the reconfiguration of the robot. Overall, this was a good assembly project with the opportunity to learn about how gears transfer motion and the benefit of modularity. This latter point however, could have been executed differently to allow for more creative use of the available tools. ... show more
