I find and fix lawnmowers to sell, and these work perfectly! They go in same as the originals, and work great! If you’re debating on trying to fix your mower yourself, just do it! It’s simple, cheap and there are plenty of youtube videos on exactly how to do it! In my experience, a majority of the time when a mower won’t start, especially after its sat with gas over the winter, the carburetor either needs cleaned or replaced and that fixes the issue! So, you can either spend the time cleaning it, and it may or may not work or, just spend 20 bucks and replace it, and not worry about it for a few more seasons ... show more

quick and easy DIY fix to a small engine

This is an exact replacement for the factory plastic type material carburetor for some Briggs and Stratton engines. I got the engine size off the tag on the mower and did a search and it came up as the replacement. I watched a video online and it looked like it was easy to replace so ordered one. It arrived quickly and looked exactly like the original. I used a small pair of long nose locking vise grips to close off the fuel supply line and took the cover off the mower. Then I removed the four screws holding it on and removed the fuel line and removed it. Just reversed the steps using the new one and put it back together and the entire job took around 30 minutes. Since you have to remove the gas tank to put this on, I dumped the dirty gas into a disposable container and cleaned the trash out of the tank That also makes it easier to reinstall everything since there won’t be any gas inside the tank to leak. Dirty gas in the tank is what caused the old carburetor to stop working in the first place. Put some fresh gas in the tank and it started on the second pull and ran great. If your mower isnt running anyway it’s worth a chance to replace this since it cost less than $20 and it may fix it so you don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on a replacement mower. ... show more

These carbs are not known for their longevity. I cleaned it several times last summer. I finally decided to get a new one . It fit well and started the engine right away. They just don’t last more than 2 mowing seasons.

I am retuning 4 of the 799583 they are all junk, I am not at all happy and I plan on writing a lengthy negative review for the public to read. I want other shoppers to know he way I was treated while speaking to a supervisor on the phone! You do care well guess what neither do I.
