I use this to provide power, and connect ethernet and usb-connected portable drives to my 2019 Macbook Pro via a Thunderbolt 3 power cable when at my desk. I have two USB-C 100 watt power cables. The Nekteck Thunderbolt 3 Cable, 100W 40Gpbs Thunderbolt 3 Certified USB C Cable Compatible with New MacBook Pro..., 1.6ft works best running at near 1 GBPS using DSLReports.com Speedtest; but the Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Cable (100W Thunderbolt Cable, USB-C to USB-C Cable), 1.6ft, runs at a lower rate, and never completes the DSLReports speed test due to transmit errors. I have not done exhaustive tests to understand why the power cable makes a difference other than the Ethernet signal is also coming through the StarTech.com Dual 4K Display. I haven't use this yet using the DisplayPort connection(s). ... show more

This served me well during the hard times, but seems to have finally given it up after a bit over two years. Something like this shouldn't be failing in that time, but it was nice while it lasted.

Product did not work with the Lenovo computer. I talked with tech support for an hour. They recommended I return it and get another. I did and the new one did not work either. I can only assume it is not compatible with Lenovo.

Worked okay, driving two 1080p monitors. Liked the front-access thunderbolt port. However, it had problems playing protected content videos from multiple different major streaming services (one external monitor would completely stop functioning if I tried). The thunderbolt port was extremely sensitive to being bumped - even a slight jostle would disconnect it. I switched to a CalDigit TS3 Plus, and it did not have either problem. It has a rear-access Thunderbolt port, which I don't like as much, but it's much more reliable. ... show more

I have now tried 3 of these. The first two worked for a week, then, started only supporting one display. The 3rd one won't even light up one. I am done. - That said, their tech support and customer service is very responsive.
