  • Better than expected
Color: Black Style: Electric Guitar
The value in this guitar cannot be beat. I'm in NY, so I bought it for my son in Colorado sight unseen. He got it packaged well, and on time. I flew out to see him the next week and played it - could not believe how good it was. The neck is straight, action is great, no buzz, sounds as rich and full as a strat can be, the finish is perfect - can put it up against any high end instrument. It's actually too good for him because i know he will wreck it, or sell it! I wanted to take it home! The manufacturing world is getting better every day, have no fear purchasing this guitar - you won't regret it. Chris ... show more

Color: Black Style: Electric Guitar
I bought this guitar for myself for Christmas. I really wanted to start learning, and i wanted to but one that wasn't too expensive, but not too cheap. This guitar is perfect for beginners, it is well built and plays like a dream, would diffidently recommend it to all beginners!!! :)

  • Very good
It was just right for the price, and it's a good guitar if you are just taking your first steps. Red makes it look vibrantly energizing. All and all I'm quite happy with it.

On time and a beautiful piece. Already tuned and good to go. Everything was included, a good buy. Sounds good too.

  • Poor quality
The pickups went bad in 1 week! The guitar was used very sparingly. It worked for 2 hours and then no signal to the amp.

good starter guitar the only issue I have had is had to file down the frets they were slicing my hand.

  • This guitar is really a stinker, be smart and don't buy it.
It's decent I suppose. It is better than the Squire models but we are talking some seriously cheap quality materials used. It is barely a step above a first-act guitar - and those things are just firewood. the frets in this starcaster are so cheap that they actually casue an allergice reaction on my hand are actually cutting it up. If you're looking to get started on playing the guitar I suggest that you go with an Epiphone LP-100. It has great quality construction, decent materials used, and the pickups are great. I'm a more experienced and I still love my LP-100. Spend a little extra. They go for around $250 new and much cheaper used. One of the biggest mistake new players make is going too cheap on their first guitar and that is an absolute barrier to progressing with the instrument. I am very serious about this piece of advice and I really hope you listen. If you get your kid a $100 guitar they're likely going to give up because such guitars suck to play - plain and simple. I speak from experience. I will end up giving this Starcaster away or tossing it in the dumpster. It just isn't worth keeping around. It really is a waste of wood and money. The positive reviews you're seeing are from people who really don't know what they're talking about or have the experience with various guitars to really speak to this instrument. ... show more
