The coffee itself is good, typical Starbucks - bold, slightly bitter. However, the sleeves were shipped in a plastic bag and two of the sleeves were so damaged the pods cannot be used. These pods are thin, easily crushible aluminium and must be insulated from the rigors of mailing by the type of boxes that Amazon itself uses when they fulfill an order. Starbucks always had a reputation for strong, over roasted coffee, and that was my impression in the stores. The Pike Place is a medium roast, and the flavor is pretty good with one major reservation. The package says lungo, but with a long pull the flavor is a surprisingly weak given the reputation. I find that with a short expresso pull, it's just fine though. But it's not what I was looking for. ... show more

The per unit cost is about $0.70/capsule. I usually drink about 2 per/am ($1.40) I spend about $3.20 going to Starbucks each morning, therefore, my savings is about $1.80 per/am plus gas $2/am. I order and drink this coffee all the time...for years. It's my favorite. A few months ago, Nespresso updated the packaging. My most recent order came in the old packaging (not what was shown on my order) The expiration date was Nov 2021 (arrived Jan 2022) I'm not one to make waves...and I haven't noticed any difference in taste, so I decided to keep the order, But I was a bit irritated.
