  • Fun Game whether you are a fan of Star Wars or just want to try VR/AR
Star Wars: Jedi Challenge review. PROS: -No cords to watch out for. -Adjustable head straps; can adjust before or after putting the headset on. -Adjustable case that fits my phone perfectly and keeps it in place during head movement. -The Rubber Dome of the light source keeps you from breaking it if you accidentally step on it. -The lightsaber is well designed, and the rubber grips integrated into the look. You can comfortably hold it with one or two hands. CONS: Eye strain after a few hours of gameplay. Would have loved to keep going but needed to take a break. There are no options to purchase a Star Wars: Jedi Challenge Game package with different styles of lightsabers. Details: First, about the Game. The game contains 3 modes of play. - Holochess (Turn-based Board game with creatures and hit-points) - Strategy (Defender style gameplay where you place Structures and command troops) - Combat Each Mode of play has at least 3 levels of play (At least in the first three worlds I played so far). Cool in-game Galaxy type interface where you click on different worlds to access the 3 Different Game modes. You need to complete all Trials of combats to move on to the next world (but do not need to complete the Holochess or strategy game to unlock a new world) Each time you complete some levels, you also Gain new abilities (Combat), Creatures (Holochess), upgrade/unlock troops/Structures (Strategy). I find that games where you earn new abilities based on merit, add more dimensions of play; giving you more options on how you want to play, and gives you a higher level of accomplishment when you win. I found the combat simulation game a lot of fun and challenging. It starts out with defending yourself against some droids using your skills with a lightsaber, reflecting laser fire, and striking them down when they wander into range. The force feedback (vibrations) of the lightsaber is timed to really make you feel like you hit something, and you can take them out piece by piece. Later levels add higher level droids (including shielded ones), Stormtroopers, Snipers, etc (note, I have only reached world 2 before writing this review). Here is a hint…Don’t just block the laser fire, hit it back at the shooter. There are also navigation buttons on the headgear. -The first button takes you to the settings screen where you can easily check your progress or take a shortcut to your favorite (completed) fight. I noticed on this screen, there seem to be ADDITIONAL trials of combat stages (Not yet unlocked for me ☺, but I will get there). There also seems to be different colors you can unlock for the lightsaber. There is also a settings menu which allows you to control the phone’s volume and enabling/disabling the 3D sound option (for headphones). -The second button is a select button. Instead of pressing the button on the lightsaber, you can move your head to have the in-game cursor line up with an option and press this button. -The third button is a Back button. Allowing you to quickly back out of menus. The Package: The Equipment came well packed and labeled. The Package contained iPhone connector (but I have a Motorola Z2 Play), UBS-C cables (Works Great with my Motorola Z2 Play), and Micro USB cables, to connect any type of phone to the headset. There was also a bag to hold the equipment because you will never be able to remember how it came in the box to put it back☺, and it keeps everything together. Everything came already charged enough to play without getting low battery warning messages. Setup was pretty easy with lots of stickers and instructions. Once you download the game app and launch it; the game guides you through the phone setup and pairing it with the lightsaber and inserting the phone into the headgear. Overall, GREAT GAME WITH HOURS if not Days of gameplay. Well worth the price and Very entertaining. It’s like immersing yourself in the role of a Jedi and controlling the battle seen in a movie. ... show more

  • App No Longer Supported
My son saved up his birthday money and purchased this device. He eagerly waited for the Amazon truck to pull into the driveway and ripped open the package, only to shortly discover that the toy is worthless. The website directs you to the Apple App Store, only to discover that the app has been discontinued since early 2022. I’m not sure why Amazon still allows sellers to sell this device. Heartbroken, we’ve started our return. Don’t purchase this item as it’s no longer a functioning product. ... show more

  • Looking for that OMG! This game delivers!
Amazing AR! Everyone loves playing the game and the 3 different types of games are very addictive and its a fantastic workout playing this!! It's a great product and worth every dollar. I will buy another one so my friends can fight each other in the VS mode. My LG v20 works great in this unit. No sluggish or jumpy graphics if you have a good phone. Easy setup and charging up the unit did not take long. If your looking for that OMG moment this game will deliver!! Nouthing like holding out your lightsaber, pressing a button and watching your lightsaber virtually light up with Sparks and voltz of electricity! OMG! ... show more

  • We love it!!
We try and charge this after each use so it will be ready without issue the next time we want to use it. We also set aside an old phone we aren’t using specifically for this game. It sits in the box with the game so my phone doesn’t have to be used if the kids want to play. The first few times I set this up it was a hassle. Hard to get it working and I have to do it for my kids. The game play was initially difficult to navigate. The fact that the phone we use is not really on the recommended list probably contributed to this as the view window is off a little making some things hard to see. After using it for a while and learning set up we love the game though. After a bit of practice it is t hard to work anymore and the fights are fun as are the other two settings you can use. Pros: train like a Jedi or with. The graphics are great. Watching someone else play is hilarious It’s just plain fun. Cons: has to be dark to play. Initially learning setup Charging batteries Our phone overheats and shuts down because ventilation isn’t great. I find the visor heavy and it pulls my face into unnaturally uncomfortable shapes Headaches if play to long. There is a suggested time limit per person, which is t very long but probably a good idea to observe. If you are playing with a group, alternating players that helps? Would totally get a second one as I find the pros out weigh the cons. Just limit your game play and make sure you charge everything afterwards. ... show more

  • Can finally live out my Jedi fanasty
I've been wanting to buy/play this game since it came out, but was unsure about paying $100 for it. I forgot about it, until I saw it browsing the electronics section of a store and my interest peaked again, but again not wanting to pay that amount. After seeing it here for 50$, I thought I'd give it a shot. Set-up was a little confusing at first and the gameplay took a little to get used to, but after getting the hang of it, it is a fun game. I'm not sure it is worth full price, but I fully recommend at 50$. The glowing lightsaber handle is pretty cool in itself. ... show more

  • Disappointing
When I first got the product it was very entertaining and super fun. The only complaint I have is that after maybe a week your for the most part already finished with the game, there isn’t much content which was really disappointing.
