Bought this mainly for use in the garage, patio, and porch. Already had a use for it removing some settled in dust and debris in the attic and found it rather easy to carry up stairs (when empty, or with little inside). Both the suction and the blow function are strong. Cleans up even large metal shavings easily. Haven't had any need to use it for anything wet yet, but hope it's just as good. This canister vacuum is small, light, and well-designed - with one exception: the provided hose is too short and too stiff. Luckily the long and flexible hose that was left from my previous shop vac that died, fits it. There is decent storage for the 3 wands and tools. The suction is weaker than my previous 4 HP vac.     • Nice little shop vacuum. Good suction, fairly quiet, easy to move around. Stainless tub is nice.
I bought this shop vacuum to replace a larger, heavier, louder shop vacuum which had a switch problem. I wanted a smaller vacuum that could handle all the usual filter choices like a throw-away bag, a reusable cloth bag, a filter foam sleeve and an optional pleated cartridge. This Stanley vacuum can handle them all. I also like the compact 5 gallon size which is perfect for most uses and makes this vacuum easier to move around and store. The only thing that could be improved, in my opinion, is better accessory storage on the vacuum. I prefer to drop the straight extension pieces into a hole rather than stick them onto a peg at the four corners of the caster cart. They're tricky to remove from the tight pegs with one hand. Otherwise I'm happy with this vacuum and recommend it. UPDATE: I found this vacuum has a nice, soft, flexible extension cord instead of a cheap, stiff vinyl covered cord, you know the type. I wish more manufacturers would take a cue from Stanley on this. It's the little things that make this vacuum a pleasure to use. ... show more

Vacuumed great but needs a longer extension and the 2 clips that hold the motor to the container CONSTANTLY come unclipped so the bottom falls off when you pic it up.

This is such a nice vacuum. It is light weight so I can easily pick it up by the handy handle or scoot it around on the wheels. It does not tip over like my old one. The suction is good and there are places on the vacuum to store the attachments, so you don't have to look for them when you need them. Very well thought out. So far I'm keeping this in the house which they recommend. This is great around the litter box or wherever there is dirt that is hard to pick up or get to. The hose is long enough I was able to sweep under the bed and get all those dust bunnies. Probably not heavy duty enough for a workshop, but they make other models for that. This is perfect for light use inside the house where your other vacuums cannot reach. Would be perfect for a small apartment. ... show more
